Their goal for this nation is complete and utter destruction; which converts this nation into one enormous sweatshop. When will America wake up? When will we decide we've had enough and cut ties with that party? It's obvious they haven't had enough yet, because they keep voting them in. The elite in this nation continues to suck the blood of an empty vessel, in hope of finding that last drop. There is never enough for the peoplee who run this country. The repukes have a certain segment of the population, who has bought into the Americans are lazy meme, started by the corporate elite. :puke: The repukes want Americans to work for free while a loud minority fights for their cause. Do we have hope in this nation or is it a lost cause? I don't know, but I will die fighting for the poor.

3. Republicans are genius about one thing - getting people to vote against themselves...
Edited on Tue Feb-09-10 08:52 PM by polichick
They do it with fear, but fear perfectly matched to different groups. There's the fear of losing your hard-earned money by helping others; the fear of losing your job or status to immigrants, women, Blacks or Hispanics; the fear of losing your carefully constructed righteous identity by embracing gays, prochoice, and other "ungodly" people; etc., etc., etc.

All these fearful people vote against themselves over and over again.

Still, I have hope - without that, life kinda sucks.

4. Many of us have asked the same question from time to time.
It boggles the mind.

5. Objectively, what have the Democrats done lately but "destroy" also?
NAFTA? Welfare to Work?

Health Care Reform? Cap & Trade or some other form of environmental protection? War crime investigations?

Raised minimum wage? Well, that is something. That and, allowing stem cell research? Is that it? (Especially when no new procedures that come of stem cell research will be affordable to any of those who have lost their health care... ?)

Color me unimpressed, and maybe add some cynical-plaid over that unimpressed background.

8. I asked this same question here during the 2008 election
And strangely enough got a lecture on how people are free to vote for whomever they want. I guess they looked at my low-post totals and made assumptions about my intentions. (I agree with you 100%, by the way, and am glad that people on this board understand your question.)
