MSNBC is airing the most infuriating interview I've seen in a long time
Edited on Wed Feb-10-10 09:32 AM by Armstead
Rep. Kit Bond, a classic Awful Republican, is on there bashing the administration's policies and handling of terrorism.

Chucky Todd is just putting up feeble "counter questions" but basically letting this jackass sperw political talking points while blaming Obama for politicizing the issue.

I wish the WH and the public would tell these jerks to STFU and not make this a damn political issue.

Jeeze, I can imagine if bin Laden is ever captured, the fucking GOP will complain that we didn;t kill him on the spot. If bin Laden is killed on the spot they will bitch that we didn;t capture and interrogate him.

God I hope the public wises up to how thoroughly sleazy these GOP creeps like Bond are.

At least savannah tried to counter his BS spin for a bit, while chucky sat there and let him spin away.

10. There is hope for Savannah
She has a legal background, so she could have been more effective against the talking points spewed by Bond..

Savannah.. learn from Rachel... she studies for the interviews

3. It's the revenge of upChuck
He's sore Obama skipped the middle men WH Press Corps and brought his message directly to the people. This is his way of getting back at Obama.

16. I don't think Chuckie Todd is intelligent enough to have a true stance on any political issue.
He is just...there. Like a big blob of nothingness.

7. Kit Bond is Senator from Mo
Ugh. Glad I didn't see it. I am represented in my district by Roy Blunt, another classic awful repuke. Bond is retiring and Blunt will seek his seat in the Senate. I'm supporting Robin Carnahan- http://www.robincarnahan.com/ If anyone here can afford to contribute to her campaign, please do. We need another Dem in the Senate.

9. That's the balanced way to do it
Reporters today cannot question the lies. It has to be a D vs R debate, otherwise it's biased.

Last year they allowed the Republicans to say, "Democrats want to kill grandma with the public option," and the media reported it as fact. Then the Democrats had to respond with, "That's not true!" Gee whiz, who wins that argument?

Now it's the Republicans saying, "Democrats want to kill you by playing nice with the terrorists!" And the Democrats are saying, "We're doing the same thing you guys did with Richard Reid." Guess what side is winning that argument?

The Republicans are incredibly effective in this media environment with their straw men. Everything is a free echochamber because nobody questions their assertions except (if we're lucky) the "other side," and then it's minimized down to just playing politics. The only "reporting" done these days isn't on facts but just making sure an assertion is "balanced" by one from the "other side."

15. Correct
No way back to democracy without a very thorough purge of Big Media. Once we get going on that, the country will turn around very quickly.

22. Scrub a dub.
That sure works for me! Folks here do know that Andrea Mitchell is Mrs Alan Greenspan, right? I think about what she must have known at a time it could have made a difference to the masses. I wonder if it dawns on her how much she betrayed both her profession and the people as journalism is supposed to be something of a service to the public when providing information because it is to be objectively presented. The media hasn't worked in honor of those principles in waaaaay toooo long.

Money is power and when it corrupts, it's absolute in that all or nothing way.

11. I thought Savannah did a fantastic job. Todd seemed
just as feeble as Bond, with all the blaming and trying to come up with precise and cogent arguments. I agree with the following guest, Joe Lockhart, that it was painful to watch him "trying to articulate anything beyond a political soundbite," though I delighted in it.

When Bond shot down Todd's feeble attempt to nicely ask if maybe both sides were playing politics with no response, I couldn't take anymore.

12. Prelude to dick on MTP
Repugs are setting up for the cheney visit to MTP this coming Sunday. They are posing themselves as the warrior/defenders against the lawyer/defenders. They knew sooner or later a terrorist attempt would occur and no matter how it was handled they had planned to use it against Obama. They want fear to be a factor in this years elections.

17. Bond is down right....
disgusting the white house stayed quiet about all the intelligence they were gathering and the right wing started from day one accusing the Obama administration of failure then when the WH responds he suddenly is worried about classified information being leaked (which it was not). So basically the Republicans want to spew lies and when challenged by people who know the facts accuse them of releasing classified info and playing politics, these people are sick! I wanted to punch that stupid grin off of his face. Ugh!

I wish they would have asked him just what terror attacks have occurred as a result of all those terror trials on US soil.

Oftentimes, they have bank accounts, as well, and then complain about banks.

It's a tad odd.

... Joey Scar was on a roll today. Essentially saying that ALL of the problems of the world would be solved if only HE was Obama's chief of staff. (He didn't SAY that, but that would be logical conclusion to the BS he was harping.)
