Media Still Failing To Do Its Job On Bush’s Iraq Lies

Former Bush administration national security adviser Stephen Hadley appeared on MSNBC today to respond to Karl Rove’s admission in his new book that “Congress was very unlikely to have supported the use-of-force resolution without the W.M.D. threat.” MSNBC’s Chuck Todd remarked “I can’t remember anybody this close to the president saying we went to war under a false pretense.”

<...>

This is ridiculous. It is simply no longer a matter of serious dispute that the Bush administration manipulated, exaggerated and lied about the threat posed by Saddam Hussein’s regime in order to build public support for the war.

1. No chance for Obama admin to prosecute. Always remember, if it is about Big Money you know
the media, most democrats, and of course republicans will always go in that direction.

3. You know, their job is to sell ad time.
The delusion that their job is to do what we think they should is just that, a delusion. It is about money for them, they are for profit businesses. Their job is defined by them, not by you, and that job is profit, just as it is in the insurance 'reform' business.
The fact is that the people who are charged with and obligated under treaties to investigate this refuse to do so. They demand that we look the other way, turn the page and all of that. They demand that Republicans are honest brokers of good intention, whereas gay people are half citizens unworthy of basic rights. The administration's job, as defined by our laws, is to investigate and prosecute if needed, and it is they who are failing their jobs, and instead just helping the media do their job of making money.
When the top is slacking, those under can not reach above and take out those being protected at the highest levels. Expecting CNN to do that which Obama refuses to do is just delusion.
