CNN - "Pentagon shooting suspect believed to be behind anti-government rants"
Edited on Fri Mar-05-10 11:09 AM by TomCADem
Add another incident of RW terrorism. We are once again assured that this person acted alone, so please ignore the George Tiller assasination, the anti-tax 9/11 copycat in Texas, the anti-gun control shooters in PA, and now this. Perhaps Glenn Fox News should keep a running kill total.

http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/03/05/pentagon.shooting/?hpt=T2

The shooter, identified by a law enforcement source as John Patrick Bedell, appears to be a man who had railed against the government repeatedly on the Internet.

Through podcasts and a Wikipedia page, a man identified online as JPatrickBedell cast the government as a criminal force destroying personal liberties.

"This seizure of the United States government by an international criminal conspiracy is a long-established reality," the man said in a podcast in November 2006, which also was published as text online.

Such an organization, the man said, "would use its powers to convert military, intelligence, and law enforcement bureacracies (sic) into instruments for political control and the domination and subjection of society, while discrediting, destroying, and murdering honest individuals within those services that work to root out corruption and faithfully serve their fellow citizens."

18. Here's what he said about B*sh - decide for yourself
November 25, 2006

This criminal organization would use its powers to convert military, intelligence, and law enforcement bureaucracies into instruments for political control, and the domination and subjection of society, while discrediting, destroying, and murdering honest individuals within those services, that work to root out corruption, and faithfully serve their fellow citizens. This organization, like so many murderous governments throughout history, would see the sacrifice of thousands of its citizens in an event such as the September 11 attacks, as a small cost in order to perpetuate its barbaric control. This collection of gangsters would find it in their interest to foment conflict and initiate wars throughout the world, in order to divert attention from their misconduct and criminality. The true nature of such a regime would find its clearest expression in the satanic violence currently ongoing in Iraq.

2. Sorry, but this guy sounds much more left wing than right wing.
His argument is seemingly against what the military, law enforcement, and intelligence communities have become

8. Well there are left wing terrorists, so some lefties to pack heat.
But saying the military, CIA, law enforcement have been taken over by the government for political control sounds like what people believe about the Bush administration.

13. Actually there are quite a lot of "lefties" who "pack heat."

I personally know a guy who brings a concealed pistol to political meetings and on economic issues is very nearly a communist. There's also lots of gun owning Democrats right here on DU. That said, while this guy uses some conspiracies that are popular on the left (9/11 trutherism, for instance) the rest of his paranoid New World Order wankerism is pretty clearly in the Teabagger type camp.

4. Audio Files In Circulation Are Definitely Rightist Swill, Sir
Government action concerning economic matters is presened as theft and enslavement, arguments for government action in the economy are described as mistaken, and in many cases outright lies, and his solution to present economic difficulties is to uphold the sanctity of private property. Not much a left view, Sir....

16. Would a lefty say this?
"Communist and socialist governments that abolished or disregarded private property," said Bedell in the recording, "created poverty, repression and murder on a truly enormous scale." But, he continued, "Even in the United States, however, there has been a continual erosion of protection of private property justified by the belief that government is an efficient instrument for the positive direction of society."

Bedell added: "Governments lack the profit and loss incentives that individuals and private organizations must use..."

And he warned: "When governments are able to confiscate the resources of their citizens to fund schemes that need only be justified by lies and deception enormous disasters can result."

Bedell also denounced the monetary system, a frequent bete noir of anti-government extremists. "When the government can control how private property is used," he said, "and especially when the government controls the monetary system that is use to exchange private property, the government has the mechanisms and the motivation to control individuals to the smallest detail."
