You could not have scripted a stupider response by the Republicans to the HCR

From Bohener to McCain they appear to be petulant children that shouldn't be given any real power.

Independents will not be impressed.

If we wrote the script ourselves it couldn't have been more to our advantage.

1. And since the bill has to go back to the House,
I'm thinking even more Democrats will vote for it,
if only to make a point of resolve, while the Democratic NO voters will
have one eye on the polls that showed the bill approval
going way up in like one day!

They now will have the option to keep their no vote, understanding
now that the gamble they took may not pay off as was originally indicated,
or they can take a stand and vote yes, and possibly save their hides.....

LOL!

2. I'd have left out the part
where they tacitly approve of violence and threats against Democrats. But, yeah, the rest of their response has been perfectly inept.

3. losing is definitely more indicative of a person's character...
on the news the other day, they were talking about McCain's statement where he said he would stop cooperating. And someone said that......how a person accepts a loss is more indicative of their character than winning.

That's true.....it's easy to be a good winner but it's much more difficult to be a good loser. And to illustrate that, they noted the way Obama & Hillary were during the campaign. We all know that must've been terrible for Hillary to lose to Obama but somehow she got past her embarassment & disappointment enough to, not only support him but also become an important member of his cabinet!!

And then we see McCain acting like a petulant child saying that he's going to take his marbles and go home!

So remind me again......why should anyone want to re-elect him after a statement like that?

The republican party is a national embarrassment.

5. Some TV political pundit made a good point earlier this week -
American political parties die out due to their own bad behavior, not from anything done buy their opposition - I think we are watching the GOP do this right now.

I predicted a split in the GOP before they lost in 08, and I think the 'baggers are going to prove disasterous for the GOP by removing their very extreme right and fielding their own candidates, using effort and money that would have gone to the republicans. They will be stuck with the more "moderate" of their usual suspects, all proven losers, all hated by the very right. The baggers will try to maintain their non-party loose confederation idea, but trying to field any significant force in an election requires a lot more organization than they can manage.
It will be an interesting election.

6. The Opportunities for them to repair and look better fall by the wayside as they continue their
Bully tactics of stoopidity and rejectionism....
