2. Looks like Artur Davis is getting hella spanked in the Democratic nod for governor, too.
Good. A fat lot of good it did him to vote against the health care reform bill.

12. Do you think that was his plan and why he didn't vote for it?
I have a blue dog here in New York who didn't vote for it either and his excuse was that it wasn't progressive enough..I'm guessing my congressman is keeping the corps happy.

Late Palin Endorsement Isn't Doing Much for McGlowan
By John McArdle | June 1, 2010 8:48 PM | Permalink | Comments (0)

A last-minute endorsement from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin doesn't seem to be doing much for former Fox News commentator Angela McGlowan in Mississippi's 1st district GOP primary.

Just hours before polls closed, Palin Tweeted that "My family&I are rooting for Angela McGlowan;race may go to a run-off election, but hopefully Angela wraps it up today."

But with 20 percent of precincts reporting, McGlowan was a distant third in the three-way race. She was pulling just 14 percent.

State Sen. Alan Nunnelee, the establishment pick in the race, was hovering just above the simple majority needed to win the three way race outright without the need for a June 22 runoff. Nunnelee had just under 51 percent.

Former Eupora Mayor Henry Ross (R), who had gained momentum among Tea Party activists, was in second with about 36 percent.

The winner will earn the right to face freshman Rep. Travis Childers (D) in November.

16. Last minute endorsement huh?
Took Angela that long to raise the money to buy it? The price of that endorsement must be going on sale soon - 60% off - has even one of permafrost princess's endorsements won their race?

5. I forgot who he is..I had to look him up.
<snippet>

"MONTGOMERY, Ala. — U.S. Rep. Parker Griffith's switch to the Republican Party in December made him a target for challenger Mo Brooks in Tuesday's GOP primary as local Republicans still felt the sting of losing to Griffith in 2008.

Griffith's bid to win the GOP nomination in the north Alabama district was the most closely watched race among Alabama's U.S. House hopefuls."

7. I searched around the DU archives...
Kind of funny to see initial reactions to his party switching in January.

9. Griffith might not even have a runoff to give himself a chance to save himself
Brooks is over the 50% mark with 53% of the vote in, with Griffith still down at 33.5%, no way he's making that up. Incumbents usually lose most of the votes of people who voted for someone who didn't make it to the runoff.

Griffith was an idiot to switch parties in the first place, that other democrat from his state (I forget his name) who had an even more conservative voting record then him at the time of Griffith's party switch has been strongly improving his reelection chances as a democrat, despite being in a district even more conservative then Griffith's, and he's a freshman congressman just like Griffith to, so it's not like we're comparing a 20+ year veteran to a newbie.

14. Pretty much what DU was predicting when he switched.
Republicans don't trust him and Democrats don't like him.
Fat lot of good switching did him.

Glad Moore is getting his ass spanked. This is the same guy that refused to remove the Ten Commandments from the State Supreme Court Building and was reprimanded for it.

James is a loon as well. Mister "I'm from Alabama and we speak English".
