3. I don't know.. I don't see many Hummers on the road anymore...
$5 gas cured people of that.

I don't think you can blame the public for price goughing and unsafe drilling by Big Oil.

5. I drive a huge vehicle - the Ford Excursion 7.3 litre Powestroke
But I had it converted run on straight veggie or waste oil. Can run Bio diesel and Dino fuel too but mostly I run veggie, which is absolutely free for me (and I put 1000's of miles on it). Not the solution but if more people sought out creative ways it could make a difference. You can buy a used Mercedes for $1000 and convert it for $500. Then talk to the owner of your fav mom and pop eatery, they will give you fuel for free (they have to pay to have it removed). You could sit and eat lunch behind my exaust pipe (harmless).

11. yep, just do a google search for VEGGIE CARS
I can drive from Salem, OR to Florida for nothing. Have taken many long trips already. Can pull the biggest trailer they make too. Not all diesels convert easiier, the excursion is a perfect one for this.

7. I beg to differ. It honestly pisses me off everytime I see one of those damned things here.
I agree that people should have the right to drive any damned thing they want, but the message should be driven home that they're helping to kill our environment. Yukons & Suburbans seem to be the vehicle of choice in my neck of the woods. A lot of parents drove these behemoths in the past, but now the young people think they're cool.

I hate 'em because it probably takes 2 gals of gas to start the damned things up, and you can't see over or around the damned things.

13. i don't mind big vehicles if they're full of things or people when they're being driven, but usually
Edited on Sat Jun-05-10 09:53 PM by dionysus
there's just one person in them. an ex coworker of mine had a suburban to drive a kids hockey team around, i didnt mind that. but people who buy a huge truck and never actually haul anything with it... just wastefull. or the person who drives a car that seats 7 because it "makes them feel safe"

8. Luckovich is one of the few political cartoonists worth anything anymore.
The majority of them are just uneducated hacks.
