Two top Bachmann staffers quit
Two top staffers to Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann left their jobs Tuesday, leaving the confrontational congresswoman without a chief of staff in her House office or a finance director for her reelection campaign.

Ron Carey, a former chairman of the Minnesota Republican Party, becomes the fifth chief of staff to leave Bachmann's office since she was first elected just four years ago.

"Congresswoman Michele Bachman thanks Ron Carey for his service to her and to the district and wishes him the best for his future," Bachmann spokeswoman Rachel Horn said in a statement to POLITICO. Bachmann's office also announced that Andy Parrish, a Minnesota AARP official who has worked for Bachmann before, will rejoin her staff as a senior adviser.

The news of Carey's departure came just hours after Zandra Wolcott, Bachmann's top fundraiser, said she was leaving her post at the campaign, offering only a vague explanation for the move.

3. Tweety had a headline called Bachmann Turnover Drive (for those of a certain age).
Apparently she's had plenty of staffers quit. Understandable!

5. Something is VERY VERY WRONG when you lose 5 COS in
only 4 years! I've seen similar things happen in the business world, and the Sr. Mgmt. always calls in the boss to find out WHY all these people are leaving. To quote them all "The problem HAS to be YOU!" THAT means he real problem is Michelle!!!!!!!!!!!!

8. I do.
She's my political enemy. Signs of weakness or vulnerability can be exploited in order to advance a candidate I prefer. That's politics. Seriously.

13. You have absolutely no control over what she does.
And in case you haven't noticed, we don't have the democratic party headed the right direction. They haven't been for quite some time now. Perhaps we better stop trying to control what republicans do and try to get our own politicians back to the basics instead.

10. New poll shows Rep. Bachmann’s opponent may be within striking distance
By Shane D'Aprile - 07/13/10 10:05 AM ET

New poll numbers from Survey USA give Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) a nine-point lead in her race for reelection. But in a potentially troubling sign for the incumbent, the poll has Bachmann below 50 percent. She leads state Sen. Tarryl Clark (D) 48 percent to 39 percent ...

With some luck and hard work, she'll be sent home permanently

14. There are bosses and then there are bosses.
A lot of people can work with difficult bosses. Not everybody, though.

Bachmann's staffers would be an interesting interview if they decided to open up a bit about their experience in her employ.

"Was Congresswoman Bachmann --

a) a high-maintenance day-to-day boss ?

b) a strident ideologue ? ; or

c) a floridly psychotic batshit crazy rightwing harpie ?"

Well, I certainly cheer these staffers' decision to head for the exit. If there's any chance at all to turn that seat blue, I'm for it.
