Christie Vilsack plans run for office

Get ready for another Vilsack from Iowa.

Christie Vilsack, wife of Iowa governor-turned-Agriculture-Secretary Tom Vilsack, was unusually candid in a weekend interview about her intention to run for office from the Hawkeye State.

“I’m just really interested,” Vilsack told POLITICO at a conference of the National Governors Association in Boston, where she accompanied her husband.

She added: “I think I have all the ingredients, it’s really a matter of timing.”

When she’ll run — and what office she’ll pursue — is less certain, though Christie Vilsack did drop some hints.
