Following Revelation Of ‘Witchcraft’ Comment, O’Donnell Cancels Sunday Show Appearances

As ThinkProgress reported, last night on his HBO show, Bill Maher aired a clip from an Oct. 29, 1999 show of Politically Incorrect, in which Republican senate candidate Christine O’Donnell revealed that she “dabbled into witchcraft.” As O’Donnell’s comments begin to attract national attention, it appears the tea party candidate is trying to avoid media scrutiny. She was schedule to appear on CBS’ Face the Nation tomorrow, but host Bob Schieffer has tweeted that O’Donnell canceled:



O’Donnell isn’t even heeding her consigliere Sarah Palin’s advice, who urged her this week to “speak through Fox News.” O’Donnell was scheduled to appear on Fox News Sunday tomorrow, but has canceled that appearance as well.

Diane Banister, whose PR firm booked the Sunday show appearances, told the AP in an email that “O’Donnell canceled so that she could attend a Republican campaign event Sunday in Delaware’s Sussex County.”

Again, for Palin this was an act of one-sided communication. She posted her views on Twitter and the press ran with it as news even though she refused to engage with them on the substance -- if there was any -- of her argument.

When Palin does avail herself for an interview it’s usually with the likes of Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, or Greta Van Susteren -- her Fox News colleagues. Lord knows they’ve never pitched a softball she wasn’t able to hit over right field.

Laughably, Palin had the gall to attack the “lamestream media” recently for supposedly failing to ask President Obama “those basic questions” by which I’m assuming she means the press hasn’t been hard enough on him. The irony of such a charge was obviously lost on her.

Palin often tells her followers “don’t retreat, instead reload!” Perhaps she should take her own advice and “reload” for another round of interviews with real reporters who will ask her “those basic questions.”

Of course, I’m not holding my breath. Palin prefers to hide behind her keyboard, showing her cowardice 140 characters at a time.

one of my first cousins about five times removed is one of the heads of the Wican Movement. But there are white witches, ones who do not do bad spells and the other kind who do.
