DCCC Polls--PA (20) & AL (2) Dems lead in targeted races
New polling commissioned by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee shows a pair of targeted Democratic freshman with healthy leads over their Republican challengers, although both Members barely crack the 50 percent mark.

Rep. Scott Murphy (D) lead Army veteran Chris Gibson by 13 points in New York's 20th district, according to a new Grove Insight poll that was in the field Sept. 28 to 30. Murphy leads Gibson 51 percent to 38 percent. The survey of 400 likely voters had a 4.9 point margin of error.

The poll comes less than two weeks after a Siena College poll showed Murphy ahead 48 percent to 31 percent.

But Gibson's camp released its own poll Monday that showed a much closer contest. Murphy lead 42 percent to 38 percent according to a Public Opinion strategy survey of 400 likely voters that was in the field Sept. 27 and 28. The poll had a 4.9 point margin of error.

In Alabama's 2nd district, Rep. Bobby Bright (D) lead Montgomery City Councilwoman Martha Roby by 9 points, according to a Greenberg Quinlan Rosner poll that was in the field Sept. 26 to 28. Bright took 52 percent to 43 percent for Roby. The survey of 400 likely voters had a 4.9 point margin of error.

A DCCC poll from early September showed Bright up 52 percent to 43 percent.

The NRCC has spent over half a million dollars combined over the past month on ads targeting Murphy and Bright.

1. A bit skeptical of polls likr these but still good to see. Dems just need to vote and we will be ok
It just remains to be seen whether enough Dems realize what is at stake to do something about it.
