What happened to GOP reminds me of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"

The pods first appeared in 1980, when the Republican Party allowed themselves to be swallowed up by the Christian Right.

Thirty years later, the final influx of pods has taken the form of the Tea Party. Just like the people in the movie, they've kept the name Republican, look somewhat normal, but are now hosts to the alien life force that has taken them over. They in no way are they remotely recognizable as the Republicans we grew up with.

That's what happens when you compromise with evil to obtain more power. It engulfs and replaces you.

And it hasn't gotten any better. The republican mantra is "Government is bad, elect us and we'll prove it!!".

2. That's a little upside down... GOP gave start up funding for the Christian Coalition.....

because elites/patriarchy have from the beginning of time used RELIGION as their

PRIMARY tool to control populations! Also, it was in response to the huge attack

on authority by the 1960's Youth Revolution, which challenged authority on EVERY

issue -- not just normal human sexuality, but child bearing, our medical system,

plants/pots/medical drugs/big pharma, energy -- on and on.


Richard Scaife financed Dobson's organization -- and other wealthy Repugs funded

Bauer's org.

Very little about elitism which doesn't involve this primary tool which is the

underpinning for patriarchy.
