5. Beautiful pic...
Edited on Fri Dec-11-09 10:30 AM by WyldRogue
..all smiles and enjoying life while I watched as 2 of my neighbors of over 15 years lose their house because there was no help coming to help them, all the help went to Wall Street and Bankers.

Now that he has his HCR bill, looks like my other neighbor is headed to bankruptcy because he has twin daughters that are disabled and one also has leukemia on top of that. They do have employer health insurance but he will be getting a pink slip before this month is over. Thanks to the kindness of fellow neighbors (including the 2 that just lost their houses), we all pitched in what we could to help but we are all cash strapped while the Elites enjoy the best times of their lives...

3 more years to do SOMETHING to help us little people out and don't give me the 'he'll do it in his 2nd term' BS

We've been hurting Yesterday, we are hurting Today and we will continue to be hurting Tomorrow. Sure am glad my elected officials used my vote to sell themselves out rather quickly...

Sorry to have ruined the 'love the Obama pic' thread with a dose of reality. Now is not the time for fairy tales when we have thousands of people living in Tent cities, lost homes, lost jobs and lost savings while those that caused it all got bailed out and making millions...

I'm so sorry that reality for you and your neighbors means an absolute inability to find even one iota of happiness for any reason, but only a desire to ruin any moment of pleasure that anyone else might enjoy.

37. Happiness
... I was in total ecstasy when Obama won the WH. I had high hopes that he would do what is right for those of us that have been forgotten under * and the Repug's rule. While I watched as the upper echelons get massive bail-outs on our dime, I waited for it to come our way but it never came. We had the stimulus package that did create a few jobs is alot of sectors and cities but over-all, people still lost their homes, jobs, savings, etc.

I still have high hope he will wake up and ignore the good ol boys club and do something for the people that are needing help the most: us

Maybe I am being cynical but I can't see how people would want to ignore facts and enjoy pure fallacy...

Edited on Fri Dec-11-09 03:03 PM by FrenchieCat
your wedding, a child born or something you felt was special,
I'm sure hundreds if not thousands of children somewhere died of starvation.

You should have stopped what you were doing,
written a check giving at least 20% of all that you owned
to help the problem.

Just sayin.....

We already know the world sucks and that the situation is dire....
and yet, life does go on....for all of us.
that's been the case for centuries. Doh.

16. Been a children's Sponser for 15 yrs...
...and continue to do so. My family and I have also taken in one of our neighbors to help them the best we can through this bad time as they had literally nowhere to go. It may be a burden to some people but in good conscious we could not let them be out on the street. Remember, Obama has stated that we are all in this together and we must do what we can to pull through.

That is exactly what my family and our other neighbors are doing, looking out for one another because there is no help coming from anyone else.

And yes, life goes on... my oldest son deploys to Afghanistan in a few weeks, my 2nd oldest in late spring/early summer, how about you? Do you have a child or loved one headed to war?

He's done more than your family has done in YOUR whole fucking lifetime. He's actually created jobs with his actions.

15 years of being a child sponsor ain't jack shit in the entire scheme of things.

49. I'm agreeing with you. ;)
Anything done for others for your own glory is something undone. In other words if you do good for others and then brag about it, you undo any good you have done. And when you think you are doing more than anyone else you are putting yourself in a position of being judged by those that you feel superior to. Just saying...

I remember a church I once attended and witnessed some of the members (during their Wednesday prayer meetings) stand up and praise god for allowing them to be the good people they were and enabling them to do the good they had done. They not only told the situation where they had helped other people and what they had done for them, but in some cases even named the person they had helped. I looked at this as a pure bragging session that had nothing to do with having good in their heart. Reminded me of the Pharisee example given in the Bible. Luke 18, 10-11.

15. And yet again..
.. I am anti-Obama because???

Oh yes, because I did not post abstract adoration.

I did say it was a beautiful pic (Michelle looks very stunning and Obama has the ever present Gentleman aura) but I have always criticized elected officials and Obama is NOT above reproach or criticism.

Let's set the record straight: I do not hate Obama, I supported him by volunteering at his campaign office where I live, went door to door and donated what I could, when I could. I protested when my child's school distric refused to show Obama's speech on Education and so forth.

So many are quick to label people based on their posts. My post was made out of anger, fear and confusion from what I see coming from both Congress and the WH. I have not stated that I gave up on him and wish he were (insert whatever comes into your mind), I will continue to support MY elected President and hope that he starts doing the right thing for all of us and NOT go with the Status Quo.

It's not hard to see why people are angry with you, Rogue.

This thread was not here for you to vent about your neighbors. Or how awesome you are and how you help so many people and do all the good things. This thread was made to look at a photo of the President and his lovely wife taking time away from their busy lives and enjoying a magical moment. NOTHING MORE.

You decided to come in here and make it about YOU and your LIFE. It isn't always about YOU.

If you want to vent about your neighbors' struggles and how amazingly awesome you are, do it in a thread that is made just for that.

But don't do it in a thread that isn't about your complaints. :eyes:

We'd be there to help you if we can, and not for rewards or status, it's because we do care...

48. Daddy ? ... Am I pretty ?
Darling ? .... You would be pretty if it weren't for the horrible suffering that mankind has endured for an eternity ....

Momma ? ..... I wrote a poem, would you like me to read it ?

Honey ? .... How can you ask me to read your poem when so many children are everyday starving for enough food ? .... Do THEY care about your poems ?

My precious sweetheart ? ...... I would love you, if it weren't for the fact that so many people go unloved each and every day .... How dare you ask for love ......

======================

Did I just hijack this heartwarming thread with a megablast of hopelessness and egocentric misanthropy ?

You betcha ....

Ridiculing those who desire even a little beauty; begrudging everyone a single happy moment; all because something, somewhere in the world might be wrong, seems the most cynical selfishness to me ....

It's not about caring for those who suffer, but caring only for your own feelings about a harsh world .... And projecting that jaded negativity onto the people around you ....

Why even bother to live if no joy can ever exist unless the entire world is perfect ? .... That can and will NEVER happen ....

The Obama's have a special kind of love that is both obvious and infectious .... It MULTIPLIES love onto the people around them ....

One of those people is me .... Thanks ....
