1. Although I signed the petition, I then watched Maddows comment.
I then realized how proud I was to be a progressive, as we realize the importance of objectivity in journalism. For that I reason, I supported KO's resignation.

Now I hope that Olbermann will address the issue upon his return by stating that his actions were wrong, if only because they threatened his role as an objective voice.

He's been punished and I hope that he will recognize his lapse in judgement and move ahead as one whose strength is the truth in his message and not some cult of personality.

2. You are worshiping a false god, "objectivity in journalism."
Journalism owes it to us only to operate according to the facts, not to stay neutral.

You aren't going to get your wish. He's not apologizing, because he wasn't wrong.

But his strength is still the truth of his message.

3. Olbermann is not an objective journalist. Never claimed to be.
He's a commentator, who gets paid to broadcast his opinion.

And quite frankly, Griffin's attempt to fire him smacked of power-play politics when he thought he could get away with it. Other commentators, like Scarborough and Buchanan made their own contributions, and meanwhile, FAKES News is a 24/7 advertisement and fundraising machine for the GOP.

Olbermann's transgression, if you'd call it a transgression, is incredibly trivial, could have been handled internally in MSNBC, or by Keith delivering a disclaimer on Countdown, but Griffin decided to use it as an excuse to force Keith out with zero warning.

Thank FSM it backfired so badly - my bet is that Griffin's now the one updating his resume...
