"Julian Assange of WikiLeaks is out on bail—apparently headed for the 10-bedroom home of British former army officer Vaughan Smith, described by the Guardian as a rightwing libertarian. Assange’s lawyer joked that it would not be so much “house arrest as manor arrest” while he fights extradition to Sweden on sexual assault charges.

"There’s no manor for Bradey Manning. As Glenn Greenwald noted yesterday, the alleged leaker of much of the WikiLeaks information–including the “Collateral Murder” video showing soldiers shooting Iraqi civilians—has been sitting in solitary confinement for seven months under torture conditions. What do we accomplish other than allowing our judicial system to become like those in the middle east?

11. Agreed. FYI - Manning is in a maxium security setting which is normal for what

he is accused of. He is likely going to spend the rest of his life in jail, so it is not unreasonable the military doctors have put him on anti-depressants.

The military justice system moves extremely slow and they are probably still gathering evidence at this point to figure out when, where, and how much did Manning get.

10. People who break laws should suffer the consequences

That includes everybody from ordinary citizens to military personal and elected officials.

Unfortunately the fact remains that the rich and/or powerful have an easier time escaping punishment.
