10. Thank God Someone Pissed On This New Poster's Thread!
You'd hate her to think it was okay to actually give the President any credit at DU, especially in the "Presidency" forum.

16. Well, where have you been?
There ar RUMORS everywhere...(on DU, anyway) that the president is about to announce, during the SOU that he will work to dismantle SS as we know it!!!

'Course, there is nothing substantial, and it really is nothing but rumor, but we can't let that stop us from making the accusations, now, can we?

22. Bullshit. The legislation has already been written
http://thehill.com/blogs/on-the-money/budget/134531-warner-chambliss-will-introduce-debt-commission-bill-next-year

Sens. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) and Mark Warner (D-Va.) on Monday said they will introduce a bill early next year based on the report from President Obama’s deficit commission.

Warner and Chambliss have been meeting with a group of 18 senators on finding a way to balance the budget, and said they have concluded the debt commission's proposal is the best basis for bipartisan talks.

The debt commission's report received bipartisan support from 11 of the panel's members, ranging from Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) on the right to Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) on the left. The recommendations ultimately failed to advance to a vote in Congress because 14 votes were needed for formal commission backing.

Despite the failed vote, Warner and Chambliss want to use the debt commission's work as a starting point for deficit talks in Congress. The senators said they expect their legislation to evolve as they seek supporters from both parties, but they said the final plan will reflect the commission’s goals of balancing the budget by 2035 by bringing spending down to 21 percent of gross domestic product.

Still struggling with a painful case of sciatica, still can't afford medical care. Some of us got coal in our stockings.

17. Vinca, my heart goes out to you
Once had sciatica so bad I couldn't stand up. The disc ruptured, then i couldn't walk. I hope you get help soon.

Health care 'reform' is a sham.

18. Thanks. I had a rather bad fall about 6 weeks ago and think the problem
is related to that, although it didn't start up until after the swelling in the leg went down. It seems to be improving a bit, so I'm hopeful it will go away on its own. In the meantime, I really think Google should award me a medical degree.

23. Advice: DON'T got to a chiropracter
I had a slip in the mud one rainy night many years ago and got bad backache and sciatica. I had a slightly slipped disc which might have resolved itself. The chiropracter's vigorous treatments ruptured the disc a couple of weeks later. THAT was hell. I couldn't even walk til after emergency surgery!

21. In my personal life -
my SO and I will be helped by the child tax credit and the deduction for self-employed insurance for SS tax.

I expect my family will be beneficiaries from the HCR Act. Ohio went all Republican in the last election - we have a huge budget deficit to deal with and the income R House Leader has indicated he wants to cut Medicaid from 200% poverty level to 100% poverty level - that means AT LEAST 3 of my nieces and nephews would lose their health care insurance. (My brother works 6, sometimes 7 days a week - he is self-employed and they cannot afford to purchase health insurance for their family AND pay the mortgage) Thankfully, because of the HCR bill - the State cannot do that without a waiver from Health and Human Services. I don't expect Kathleen Sebilius (daughter of former Ohio Gov) to grant the waiver to the jerkwad, cold- hearted Repugs. fingers crossed.
