Joe McCarthy redux

We don't see enough commentary on this: the present-day "Tea Party" and their divas are direct descendants of Joe McCarthy; Joe McCarthy, who held this country's political class hostage to his reds-under-every-bed scare tactics of the 1950s.

Reading an article on Politico entitled "Republicans Terrified of Tea," it is the EXACT SAME DYNAMIC. One would think? we would learn from our historical mistakes...but not here in the good old godbless the US of A.

Well, I for one just hold onto the hope that this fiasco ends as that did: with the principal discredited, shamed, and sent to the wilderness tail between his legs, only to disappear into the ether forever, shortly after his reign of terror....
