written before the budget came out. Still, it seems like Reich and others are just throwing out sound-good proposals at this point. From the OP article:

Sure, those would be great, but while people are claiming that the President's proposal to end tax cuts for the rich and oil subsidies are never going to happen, what makes anyone think the above proposals have a remote chance?

The President has to realistic. He made several good proposals: here, here, here and here.
