Any cost estimates on the attack of Libya yet?
And please phrase it in terms of "teachers salary's", maybe it will have more impact.

1. The President has said
he's using available resources and not going to Congress for funding.

3. In all fariness,
we were going to be replacing them anyway. They have expiration dates that were coming up soon.

15. "REAL issue"
Like what: Afghanistan, Iraq or what?

Libya is a real issue. Your disagreeing with it doesn't make it any less real.

21. How about Iran? We were supposed to be happy that
McCain didn't win so we wouldn't end up in Iran. Well now we are in Libya, and aren't we glad Hilalry didn't get elected or we would be in Iran!!!

6. Ask yourself....
What would be worse...losing your job OR watching your family killed???

Typical Americans...our jobs are more important than your lives.

8. You don't understand my point...

Because you don't understand what is happening in Libya. We are not ATTACKING them. We are helping the people get rid of a dictator who has killed his own people. Maybe if you were in that situation you would wish that your only problem was not having a job at the moment, in a country that will take care of you until you get one!!!

P.S. I think Obama gets enough criticism without the need of some to exaggerate or put their own spin on situations to make them worse. It is not a war. It is not Iraq or Egypt. They are all different and there is no "one size fits all" solution.

Want to handle those also? Or only in the middle east?

12. I'd like to help them all...
preferably without the use of any military action. You can be for it or against without the arguement of Americans having to suffer and sacrifice, etc... We don't know what suffering and sacrificing is.

You devalue the lives of Libyans if you compare them to teachers wages. If it were an american city that, lets say, had a disease break out that required the government spend a lot of money....would you be screaming about teachers wages?????

13. Libya is not our business. If we were rich and fully employed it might be......
we need to end our rein as the world police. Let the other more financially well off countries deal with it.

We have had the job for 100 years. Lets take a break.

11. do you understand
that the "rebels" from eastern Libya are the same group that supplied one in 5 insurgents to Iraq and tried to kill as many Americans as they could? So now we are helping them, arming them, and very soon our soldiers will likely be fighting them....just another version of Afghanistan waiting to happen!!

23. here ya go
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/03/19/extremists-among-libya-rebels_n_837894.html

" But on a per capita basis, no country sent more young fighters into Iraq to kill Americans than Libya -- and almost all of them came from eastern Libya, the center of the anti-Gaddafi rebellion that the United States and others now have vowed to protect, according to internal al Qaeda documents uncovered by U.S. intelligence.
...
Almost one in five foreign fighters arriving in Iraq came from eastern Libya, from the towns of Surt, Misurata and Darnah."

22. In actuality, we're securing their oil supply for Europe.
Don't kid yourself with the humanitarian focus. Lots of places far worse than Libya that barely merit a second look.

This is about oil.

20. No one is saying it's "provide jobs" or "bomb Libya".
I don't think anyone is saying that lives in Libya - or anywhere - aren't worth saving. I know my outrage is directed at our politicians...mostly republicans but some Democrats too...who are advocating cutting every social program in this country because "WE'RE BROKE AND THE WORLD IS COMING TO END BECAUSE WE'RE BROKE!" (Funny how it wasn't a big deal when Bush was in the White House.)

I'm tired of hearing "We can't afford to provide health care to our citizens", "We can't afford to continue funding meals for low income children", We can't afford funding for Planned Parenthood, NPR, the EPA,etc." "We have to cut Social Security and Medicare because we're drowning in debt!".
But, no one says a word about cutting the bloated, wasteful, mismanaged military budget and no one bats an eye about spending millions of dollars a day on Iraq and Afghanistan...and now we add another several million a day for Libya!

I just can't deal with the hypocrisy.

18. Since when do teachers' salaries come out of the federal budget?
Everywhere I've lived, public school funding came from state and local funding.
