Why it won't be Christie - why Christie won't even run
Serious GOP candidates know - I mean really know that they are going to lose. Christie will wait to fight against a non sitting President.

He's already laying the foundation of getting "more experience" and come 2016 he will cling to his asinine ways as gov to go against whichever Dem it is...

2. Now, now -- hopefully, he will not run then because of a loss of the governor ship in 2013
He was recently down to 44% in the Rutgers Eagleton poll. (The number is going in the right direction.)

6. He's from my county and that is what happened in his only other elected office
Edited on Tue Apr-12-11 01:24 PM by karynnj
He won election to the Morris county freeholders board - and when it was time for re-election, the other 2 Republicans found a third to run with them as a team in the primaries. (This is a very heavily Republican county. )

Link to a recent Eagleton Poll that looked at what traits people used to describe him. To know him is not to love him - http://hudsonreporter.com/view/full_story/12756745/article--NJ-Voters-Show-Sharply-Diverging-Views-of-Gov--Chris-Christie-?instance=up_to_the_minute_hoboken

9. He's already too fat to run.
Maybe he NEEDS to be running -- I'd suggest a couple of miles a day!

4. He will either die of a heart attack before he can run.
Or he will suffer a major heart attack while campaigning for President.

It will be just too much pressure for him.

7. That is scary - and I can believe it is true
Hillary Clinton, who was in much better shape than he is, looked exhausted at the end of it. John Kerry, who is very atheletic and fit said it was the most physically exhausting thing he ever did (this was part of very neat diversion when asked about gaffes the Democratic nominees had then recently made.)

It really can't be that healthy to be that heavy.

8. I can understand Hillary's exhaustion being terribly unfit, but Kerry should have held up.

10. I don't think Hillary was "terribly unfit" - and Kerry did continue 16 hour days until the election
- and he did finish strong. The media chose not to really show the size and excitement of the Kerry rallies. I heartily recommend that everyone watch CSPAN several hours a day during elections, but that's not going to happen. :) I was surveyed on TV watching in 2008 and the person doing the survey was amused when I honestly answered "CSPAN" as the channel I watched most.

Kerry did hold up well - even though he clearly lost a lost of weight. Remember he was 60 years old and had cancer surgery in March 2003.

11. Hillary has more stamina than most of her staffers who are half her age.
I know, I was there. Hillary survives on catnaps, spicy food and coffee.

5. Well, one can also hope he makes a major misstep or some skeleton in his closet comes out.

but don't get complacent! HUGE egos (bigger even than his waistline) and political desperation to win at all costs could mean he presents us with an equally big headache in the future. DON'T GET COMPLACENT!!! I still think we need to be ready for this guy and we can't afford to take ANYTHING for granted.
