He's still briefed on everything. Secret Service follows him everywhere. If an urgent decision needs to be made, he still needs to make it, and will. He'll never truly take a vacation until he leaves office. It's more like a change of scenery, with a more laid back atmosphere.

You rarely heard a peep from MSM when Bush spent 1/4th (or whatever it was) of his presidency at his ranch. Hypocrisy at its finest.
