Wall Street executives who supported Barack Obama in his 2008 White House bid are switching to Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, the Hill reported Monday.

Sixty-seven New York City metro area financial-sector workers who donated at least once to Obama in 2008 have directed more than $147,000 in contributions to Romney’s campaign, the Capitol Hill newspaper reported.

Only three of the 67 have given to Obama this year, the Hill reported.

I don't live out my activism as a vehicle to only criticize what I already knew would be an imperfect President. I simply don't feel compelled to mention his imperfections everyday in order to feel principled or accomplished. I look at the positives, and concentrate on those, and work to get more of that in this fucked up political atmosphere. I'm not going to flush our possibilities down the toilet, just cause I can. I'm don't feel that entitled.

how unhappy and disillusioned progressives are with Obama we always hear we have to vote for and will, taken for granted if you will. I guess everyone has missed the black caucus. They had a meeting here in Atlanta and Maxine Waters and John Lewis were not telling all the African Americans to get out for Obama.

Every time voters have a choice between a democrat trying to be a republican and a republican they will choose the real republican every time.

So my point was that I am pretty tired of the rosy glasses on here always telling me I will to have vote for Obama again.

When it's the Democrats' turn to be in power, finally, because Republicans have fucked up too bad and done something like lose a major American city, and start a couple of unwinnable wars, and wreck the economy and/or get caught chasing boys and taking garbage bags of unmarked bills from Indian casino operators or AIPAC, you focus your corporate money to influence the Democrats. As soon as the Democrats are in office and doing your bidding, you begin to rebuild the GOP so you can trade in your Democrat toadies for Republican ones. Republicans don't have to pretend to be anything other than your henchmen to their voting constituencies.

Essentially, now that Obama is all used up, they will throw him away like yesterday's garbage no matter how much Obama attempts to cozy up to them.

When it comes to choosing between the GOP and the Dems, Wall Street will pick the GOP every time. 2008 was a little bit of a different animal because of the immense hatred for Bush. Wall Street saw Obama's election as inevitable so they cozied up to him and donated generously to him.

Not so this time. They will stab Obama in the back even though they are posting record profits.

In 2008, they knew they had overstepped w/ Bush and that the odds were strong against another Republican getting elected. Not even close. So they found the most, um, "pragmatic" Democrat with momentum to put their money behind.

Now the tide has turned and they can go from a 70% satisfaction rate to 100%. So why not?
