2. Can you post the picture URL instead?
 Does it end in .jpg? If so, just right-click the image and copy/paste the actual picture URL.

14. I imagine that and "Desert 1" were in the backs of ALL their minds.
I heard (no, I don't remember where) that the President even had the military people consider a scenario where the Seals would have to fight their way back out.

Unlike the last crowd, these people are pretty good at crossing all the "T"s and dotting all the "I"s. But even then, stuff happens...

6. Can't even imagine BushCo* in the same setting.
Dumbya would be picking boogers and studying them, Darth would be sneering with glee, Condi making a shopping list for her next trip to Milan....

more intense and striking than this one, knowing what they were watching. I love this man (and his wife).

I've noticed she and I gesticulate when speaking in a similar manner as well.

26. Her reaction may be a very good argument for having women in leadership positions, rather than men.
They seem to find violence much more abhorrent.

Most of the men do not seem so much disturbed, as interested.

12. They are all very tense
They all knew what was riding on this decision. It is just kind of mind-numbing the decision these people have to make every day.

They were watching live feeds from the SEALs' helmet-mounted cameras. So sayth Rachel last night.

17. Good for the Administration for even allowing a photographer to be there.
That's courage right there because none of those people are prepped for the camera in their Sunday best--the real gravity of the situation is starkly evident.

..I think it clearly shows what a gutsy call this was by the President..and how serious he takes putting troops (even badasses like Seal Team 6) into the field...

It is for moments like this that we elected him...clear, concise, well-informed decisions, not 'yee-haw' cowboy bravado...

At least this CinC cared in real time what could happen to the troops.

30. They didn't know what would happen.
There was no guarantee OBL was even there. When the helicopter went down, it was an even bigger risk. This was probably their only chance to go into Pakistan and the only way they'd get away with it is if it worked.

21. I wonder if it added any tension in the SEAL's minds "OMG, the FUCKING PRESIDENT is watching me!"
It would make me tense, anyway.

And given the unbelievable tension that one would be feeling already on a mission like this, knowing that the president was watching the live feed from your helmet-cam would totally make me stressed.

"Hey, rabrrrrrr, that was great when you bowed your head down so we could watch you piss your pants in fear. Great move." saith the president in the debriefing room afterward.

35. He doesn't look like the President in the room.
If I didn't know who these folks were, I'd say "the guy in back with his arms folded" or "the guy in the suit with the blue tie". Not "the man in the corner that looks too human, too concerned, hunched down in his chair". What an unPresidential photo, Mr. President. Now, please get some rest. You look terrible (in a good way).

K&R (With sympathy for your schooling on posting a photo. Something I have yet to attempt.)

:hi:
