Fuck the American public
I'm sorry but I still can't get over this:

Republicans turn a budget surplus into a massive deficit, cut taxes without paying for them, take us to two wars, blow up the debt, then run on the FUCKING ECONOMY AND GET ELECTED?? What?!?! They fucked the economy, then ran on the economy, and Americans elected them.

Things like this drive home that painful reminder that this is a center/center-right nation full of people who don't know how their politicians vote (hence the false equivalence cliche) and who respond only to buzz-words and scare tactics (the Republican m.o.). That really disappoints me, because it means we're going to have to wait a loooong time before we reach anything remotely close to a liberal country.

19. We hear you, but the post is about all of us, as a people.
The whole kit and kaboodle. One of the biggest problems with how they manipulateus into being stupid as a group, people don't want to hear because it hurts too much.

The masses are treated like cattle. So when you see those disgusting videos they had up on the front page recently about what we do to masses of animals to process food, on a higher level, the masses of humanity are treated the same way - and for someone's "consumption".

I wouldn't be so graphic with my disgust as the OP (they'll accuse him/her of being Jeremiah Wright),
but I get the sentiment.

5. I have been having those same feelings.
I want to just give up on the lot of them. If have determined that if I want to ever live in a liberal country, I will have to move.

6. LIE: We never had a surplus.
Edited on Wed May-04-11 08:13 PM by originalpckelly
We only had a surplus if the government doesn't plan to pay back the money that is automatically stolen from social security and given to the federal government.

paying for them.....

8. It isn't center-right, it's self-centered
The average person's political views in this country have more to do with American Idol than with anything of importance.

10. Yes
Was going to mention that too. The selfishness is just disgusting.

Who was it that said, that to Americans the issues are "housing and jobs; my house, my job"?

9. Not just the American public, what about the Canadians
and what they embraced in their recent election? Why do people buy into voting against their own self interests?

11. That too!
And they do that because, like Americans, the majority get their information from mainstream media and respond to buzz-words and scare-tactics.

At least Canadian righties are somewhat bearable.

23. Here's an earlier thread here from today about the Canadian election:
"Give us some tactics to help survive the hell that is about to engulf us."

22. That's because America is an idea
Americans, unfortunately, are three dimensional.

Not a paradox at all.
