The Presidential Credit/Blame Scoreboard According to Conservatives
The credit for the late 1990s record economic prosperity and high job creation rate goes to Ronald Reagan's policies of the 1980s.

The blame for the terrorist attacks on 9/11, nine months into Bush II's presidency, goes to President Bill Clinton who wasn't president for 8 months and Bush was given a report entitled, "Al Qaeda Likely to Strike on American Soil".

The blame for the financial system collapse, high budget deficits, growing national debt, and economic recession which all got started in early 2007 goes to President Barack Obama who didn't take office until January 2009.

Finally, the credit for the killing of Usama Bin Laden goes to Bush II who had 7 years and worldwide support to find Usama, but didn't.

Did I get all of that right?

1. Yep.
Republicans = hypocrites.

Economic recovery since 2009 is to Bushie's credit, too.

2. They're disappointed that Obama got Osama.
They'd have much preferred impeaching him if the mission had failed.

4. You missed something that I hear from "conservative friends..."
Democrats took back Congress in 2006. That's what precipitated the financial collapse. It was all Nancy and Harry and Barney's fault!

5. Does anyone else notice that no GOPers
mention Saddam. Bush did get Saddam, but Saddam was not responsible for 9/11.

6. you forgot the berlin wall --
after 7 solid decades of bipartisan cold war opposition to the soviets including a nuclear arms race, a space race, and proxy wars; the uniform both-party line that ultimately the ussr would fail because communism is inherently inferior to capitalism; the reforms brought about by gorbachev; and the wall coming down during the republican's own poppy bush; credit nevertheless goes to saint ronnie, because he gave a speech asking gorby to tear down the wall.

and yet, obama is a terrible president and not to be trusted because he gives good speeches.
