Batshit Crazy Bachmann prays for "a special anointing" from the Lord as she considers 2012 run

Bachmann: ‘Please Pray for Me’
She also asks for 'special anointing' as she considers 2012 run

(Newser) – In deciding whether to embark on a quest for greater political power, Michele Bachmann is leaning on the power of prayer. "I am asking your listeners to now please pray for me and my husband and my team," Bachmann said in an interview with Financial Issues Stewardship Ministries, which was spotted by Politico. "Ask that the Lord will give us a special anointing on how to put our team together, who those team people will be, that he would bring those people to us."

"It won't be easy, it will be a very, very difficult fight," she continued. "If this is something that the Lord has called us to, he will make a way where there is no way, and so we're asking for that prayer." (In other Bachmann news ... oops.)

2. How does one know that they have
been annointed?

3. You won't get a single consistent answer on that one, I'm afraid
A person like Bachmann can easily convince themselves that they've been "anointed"...remember the talk that surrounded Bush in this area, that he was "chosen" to be President?

So the first step in someone saying they've been "anointed" is to do exactly what she's doing. Then she'll gather circumstantial evidence and random unrelated events together and offer them as proof that she's been "anointed" for the task.

For me, as a Christian, it's a much quieter process. We all have an internal "compass," and we all have the option of heading to the north, south, east or west. Whenever I face a major decision and want to have the feeling I'm doing the right thing, I'll do whatever I can to tune out all the noise and reflect quietly on the options. There's a sense of peace that comes with taking the right steps. If I don't feel the peace, I don't take the steps. Sometimes I "think" I have it all dialed in and then take those first steps and it's clearly not going to work out in my favor.

So it's a "gut instinct," I'd say, but when someone tries to pair that with a firm conviction that it "came from God," things can get crazy real fast.

And since Bachmann is already crazy, Bachmann with an "anointing" will be crazy on steroids.

9. ...and their "choosing" is what he considered proof of his "anointing"...
...it really is a devious little way for people to "prove" that they are "right."

8. How many rightwinger/teabagger whackjobs plan on thowing their hats into the RNC

GOP primaries debates gauntlet?

Might even cause a schism between old school Rethug bureaucrats and those "out there" like crazy-eyes who likely believe that they have or can solicit the full and entire support of the teabaggers, but I am not that sure that batshit-crazy already does, and she may only have the extreme rightwing Christian fundie freaks' full support to count on.

At any rate, seeing for example, Mittens, Newt, Bachmann, and Trump debating the issues and describing their candidacy, platform, and plank vs one another on stage would likely be popcorn worthy entertaining.

15. I have an evil desire to put all kinds of negative messages in her path
If I had the resources, wouldn't it be fun to put billboards up that say "God Says Don't Run!" and have her equipment fail at speeches, plant people in audiences who tell her they've had prophetic dreams that she should not be president, etc.

Bet she'd find that anointing anyway.

19. There are millions who think as she does. And they vote every election.
not just once every four years but in the primaries and local elections. I think of them when I hold my nose to vote for less than perfect candidates to help keep far right nitwits on on a mission from Gawd like her from getting in. Lessor of two evils means less evil.
