Herman Cain answers Rick Santorum's slight
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0511/54496.html

Herman Cain's camp is firing back at Rick Santorum after the former Pennsylvania senator challenged Cain's electoral viability while on the stump in South Carolina.

Slate reported that Santorum, chatting ahead of the question-and-answer portion of an Aiken, S.C. luncheon, challenged the notion that Cain was a viable candidate.

"He's never won an election," Santorum said. "And it's not that he hasn't tried. He's run twice and lost."

Cain spokeswoman Ellen Carmichael, responding to Santorum's comments, said Republicans shouldn't attack each other in the run-up to the 2012 primaries.

1. Somehow reminds me of Allen's 'macaca' moment.
Santorum will regret this one (among many others, I'm sure.)

2. 'Republicans shouldn't attack each other in the run-up to the 2012 primaries'
What they are saying is that they all know that they are all evil and there is no reason to let the voters know this
Evil to the core, scum of the cesspool, bottom feeding slime,
there is no difference between them except in their names

4. Santorum is a religious fanatic and Cain's spokewswoman is delusional
Lil Ricky has no bidness questioning anybody's electoral viability. IIRC he lost his last election bid by over 10 pts., disgraceful for a sitting senator. A fetus in a jar has a better chance of getting this nomination than he does.

As for the Cain spokeswoman's comment that republicans shouldn't attack each other in the run up to the primaries, WTF have primary candidates done since time immemorial? Particularly in this cycle, it's the only chance tweedeldumb, tweedledumber, and tweedledumbest have to distinguish each other for the voting public. None of these "loosers" has a shot at the nomination but they might make the early primaries interesting.

And BTW, if Herman Cain thinks he has an iota of a chance to capture any of the the birther/teabagger/redneck demographic in these primaries, he might want to have a private chat with Michael Steel.

6. Cain is also a religious fanatic, no? He said he would refuse to have any Muslims in his cabinet
Lest they want to apply "sharia law."

5. Santorum is projecting again
The last time Santorum ran, he was running for re-election for the US Senate in 2006 and received about 40% of the vote what was essentially a two-way race. In short, his incumbency was a liability. He was wallopped. No other incumbent Senator lost anywhere near as badly, even given it was a bad year for Republicans.

Now he's running for president and has the nerve to point out another candidate isn't viable.
