While all special elections should come with a warning label reading “Do Not Project Results onto Next November’s Races,” this label should come super-sized on a race involving a wealthy, pro-choice, protectionist Tea Partier who ran for Congress as a Democrat in 2004, 2006, and 2008 (spending more than $5 million of his own money) and has spent at least another $1.7 million in this race.
