The new acting leader of Al Qaeda

His nickname is Saif Al Adel and he was a colonel of the Egyptian special armed forces. Pretty much a military guy. He was opposed to the September 11 attacks since he believed they were too provocative and would bring harsh retaliation against the organization. Saif is in favor of smaller scale but more frequent attacks. He was said to be in Iranian custody but it appears they let him go in exchange for a diplomat held by Al Qaeda earlier this year.

I do not think he would be the type to release video messages or be obsessed with watching himself on TV.

I am surprised the number 2 Al Zawahiri who also is an Egyptian was not picked to be the leader.

6. That's clearly
got to be a qualification. LOL.

Considering he was in the Egyptian military, I'd say probably quite extensive experience.

8. Meet the new bogeyman.
Just as irrelevant as the old bogeyman, and exactly the same as his replacement will eventually be.
