Rudy Guiliani said this today...
at the GET Motivated seminar in Seattle.....
"This country was built and designed not on community or communal intelligence but on individual rights and individual intelligence."

I guess Rudy never heard about teamwork or "putting our heads together"... or monopolies or ... Why the fuck am I even responding to what that asshole said.

I AM, however, curious about the seminar...this event featured Steve Forbes, Bill Cosby, Rudy Giuliani, Joe Montana, Brian Tracy, Dan Rather. GEN. Colin Powell, Howard Putnam, Laura Bush, GEN. Stanley McChrystal and others.

The tickets were $9.95 for your whole office or group.

How can they do it? All that talent doesn't come cheap. The ads were nonstop. And renting Key Arena ain't cheap, either.

Then I read this...
http://www.citypages.com/2010-05-19/news/get-motivated-speakers-want-to-inspire-you-and-take-your-money/

"Though you wouldn't know it from the newspaper advertisements or the website, the celebrity speakers aren't the only ones who will take the stage. After the star power has whipped the crowd into a motivational frenzy, slick hucksters follow up with seemingly spectacular, one-of-a-kind offers."

45 complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau in the last three years.

The seminars also have a Christian theme. The fine print on ads promoting a Get Motivated Seminar notes there is a "special 10-minute optional bonus session on the Biblical secrets of success."

Sounds sleazy at best and a ripoff at worst.

How come the big names lend themselves to that kind of shit?

Now... back to Rudy.

You guys agree with the "This country was built and designed not on community or communal intelligence but on individual rights and individual intelligence."?

1. No, I don't. Plus, as a 49er fan, I'm entirely disappointed in Montana.

3. The only thing I can figure is that he got the pitch from Lou Holtz
who has also been a part of these events.

That being said, and being a huge 49er and Giants fan, Joe never came across as the sharpest knife in the drawer. Although the first Super Bowl win was huge I was just as elated with Young leading the team to the last victory.

2. Giuliani must believe it - why else would he participate in a group action to motivate individuals?

4. Unless the 'community' is a corporation. Then it is FINE to work together as one. Seems
like corporate masters really do not want to have to compete with any entity of similar strength to themselves.

7. No community intelligence? Tell that to Ben Franklin, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James
Madison.

8. Cooperation is just as important as competition.
If not more so.

Hey, looks to me like Giuliani is cooperating with Steve Forbes, Bill Cosby, Rudy Giuliani, Joe Montana, Brian Tracy, Dan Rather. GEN. Colin Powell, Howard Putnam, Laura Bush, GEN. Stanley McChrystal and others.

And that whole gang is cooperating with the advertisers.

But I guess for this not to be a communist endeavor, someone had to be in charge of it and everyone else involved their employee. Wonder who it was?
