My take on the reading of the Constitution and how it is being abused
Will they now state on their resumes, or publicly, that they are "Constitutional Scholars", as Christine O'Donnell did per her one weekend at a seminar?

Basically, this false grandstanding is all about thumbing their noses at the Dems, gathering in more Tea Partiers and other sundry supporters, and taking on the ideological mantle of owning our national document through reading and loose interpretations on their part, rather than actually holding up and adhering to the basis for our blueprint of democracy.

By doing what they are doing today on the floor of our senate, they are attempting to make the Constitution no longer an open writ for we the people.

1. By that reasoning ...
anybody who's watching it or watches a repeat of it can claim the same thing.

You know O'Donnell's old house was right around the corner from where I lived. Glad she moved out of the neighborhood!

4. They want to be the party that respects the
Constitution just like they have the reputation of being fiscally responsible. They aren't either one but if they make the show and say it enough that will be what they are known as. The dems have to refute this strongly.

This whole ridiculous act is nothing more than the repukes trying to polish their turd.

They think that simply reading the Constitution will suddenly make them follow it? LOL

I laugh long and hard at their bullshit charade.

all this does is distract and lull the mouth breathers of this nation long enough to ignore the repukes willful disregard for the document.

the ditto-heads will sleep well tonight thinking that "responsibility" has returned to washington because a bunch of over rated rich men and women were able to read a document that they daily ignore.

Nothing but sanctimonious bullshit.

But heaven forbid anyone calls them on it, then that person is labled "UnAmerican" and put on the terror no fly list.

We have been muzzled as a nation and we let them do it to us.

7. Simply reading the Constitution
doesn't mean they understand its words and implications , nor does it mean they respect it.
They're still a bunch of fearful whining assholes.

9. Nah more basic than that
I remember a number of years ago i took a sales class at the local community college.
As a community institution it took any and everyone.
First class the teacher has everyone take out the text and 1 by 1 has everyone read a paragraph or 2 form the text.
My first thought was My god this is going to be the dreaded read from the book class from Hell.
About 2/3 of the way thru the class i figured out what was going on.
The teacher was trying to determine if everyone in the class knew how to read. To my complete shock, it was clear that a couple pretty much did not. The teacher then to his credit, adapted his methods to ensure these 2 or 3 students could still recieve value from the class.

My point???

By reading the constiution out loud, republican party leadership was able to determine if the tea baggers were even dumber than they looked.
