"The City" Of London - Citadel of the Bankster Mafia
http://www.opednews.com/articles/The-City-Of-London--Cit-by-Kent-Welton-110616-495.html

As Harry Truman once said "there is nothing new in the world except the history you do not know." Clearly this applies to our common lack of understanding of banking history today, to our Colonial-era battles with England over banking powers, and to grasping the sheer private power of the debt-money tentacles upon our lives and societies.

Few know today that the "City" of London refers not simply to the greater city of london but instead to a banker's feifdom, a veritable Vatican of money and sovereign citadel of the banksters that rule our world.

Much like the fact that many in the USA still do not know that their own "Federal" Reserve is a privately owned central bank, so too the people of Great Britain and the world are largely unaware of the nature of "The City' -- i.e., a private fiefdom of international finance located in London but existing apart from any jurisdiction and power of the people.
Regardless of its unique location and sovereign status, its economic and political power over the last several centuries has been and remains immense.

In effect, as many insiders have warned us thru the years, our representation and democracy are but facades foisted upon the people by the real powers behind the scenes. As E.C. Knuth further relates, "how has it been possible to erect this Internationalistic structure of misrepresentation and deception in our midst and to protect it from exposure for nearly a century? Why have not our professors of history, our college presidents and educators, or our crusading newspapers exposed this monstrosity?" Why indeed?

1. I didn't know the Fed was privately owned or that the City was outside
British law. I'm stunned. Thanks for posting.

2. It's not outside British law
That's just something Makow made up. He's a well-known nutter on the internet; I've no idea about Knuth. There are some vague truths in the article (eg there is a City of London police force, that is separate from the Metropolitan Police that polices the rest of London; but it still answers to the Home Secretary, as do all the police forces in England). The City is, of course, very influential; but that's like saying Wall Street is influential.

The one notable difference of the City of London from the rest of the country is how it's local council is elected - corporations with offices in the city boundaries get votes as well as residents:

The Corporation of London is the last authority in Britain whose members are elected partly by a business franchise. As well as about 8,000 resident voters, nearly 24,000 votes are distributed among businesses based in the City, with the voting share proportional to the number of staff each firm employs.

I suspect that may be what is at the base of these claims. But the talk of being a sovereign state, or not subject to English law, is rubbish.
