Santorum exposes poor history scores as leftist plot
Using results of history tests given to a sample of students in grades 4, 8, and 12 (samples as small as just 7,000 in grade 4) Santorum joins the people outraged by the results - results certainly influenced by the fact many schools spend little time on social studies as they focus on reading and math test scores for NCLB.

He said, "There was a report that just came out last week that the worst subject of children in American schools is — not math and science — its history. It’s the worst subject. How can we be a free people. How can we be a people that fight for America if we don’t know who America is or what we’re all about."

Fair enough. History is an important part of a solid, well-rounded educational program.

But then he goes crazy and says, "This is, in my opinion, a CONSCIOUS EFFORT ON THE PART OF THE LEFT who has a huge influence on our curriculum, to desensitize America to what American values are so they are more pliable to the new values that they would like to impose on America."

This is disgusting rhetoric. His words say all there is to say about the values of the right.

I can't wait for the science test results from the red states......

5. They're not even awarding partial credit for saying the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor
It's an outrage, it is! Some lefty plot for sure. Thank the Good Lord above that we have plenty of Santorum on hand to fight against this terrible scourge.

Ick. I think I just grossed myself out.

10. I'd put Democratic politicians up against Repub ones in a history test ay time
Let's see whether 'left' or 'right' is doing more to spread ignorance of history when you've got Palin and Bachmann on your side, Santorum ... or even yourself.

12. Liberals have a huge influence on education, WTF........
Conservatives in Texas, just okayed a new Social Studies text, that will do nothing to help history scores. It's conservatives with NCLB, who have left behind History in favor or mass testing for reading and math.

14. So just what are these "American values" anyway.
Apparently anything the ruling class finds inconvenient is un-American.

17. the Founding Fathers' values included scandalous numbers of mistresses, Abolitionism, Quakerism,
Deism, Anglicanism, slavery, Freemasonry, snobbish fear of demagoguery, demagoguery, heavy drinking, world revolution, and warmongering
except for the first and the last ones, the GOP--trapped forever in 1954 when the US was the only economic and military Power left--has very little with these bourgeois revolutionaries of the 1770s-90s
and that shriveled Puritan Adams would've called you a Papist subversive, santorum-boy (though you'd've loved his Alien and Sedition Act)

18. Someone give Frothy Mixture a history test!
Make him take the composite history test! I bet he can't even get 10% of the answers correct! It would be a huge public embarrassment for Ricky if HE had to take a history test...he would fail miserably.
