A Miami veteran of U.S. service in Iraq, who took some of the military’s most intimate photos of captives in the prison camps at Guantánamo as a combat photographer, was in a detention center Thursday, facing a federal fraud trial.

Federal prosecutors charge that former Petty Officer 2nd Class Elisha Leo Dawkins, 26, committed a crime when he applied for a U.S. Passport April 3, 2006. The government says he made a false statement, a felony, when he failed to disclose that he had three years earlier started the process of applying for a passport. Conviction could carry 10 years in prison.

1. That is not understanding the difference of what makes it wrong.
Edited on Fri Jun-24-11 01:15 AM by RandomThoughts
By it being a systematic wrong done by others, he was being transparent.

But some think the bias of those 'against rats' is what should be seen or what stuff means, and think it is about getting rid of people creating transparency in how society operates. Some think the stuff is suppose to be secret.

Side note, comment on people that have not sent beer and travel money, falls on the censors or people showing wrong information, or censoring information, not those actual people.

You have to see it by function not data.

That delusion is in lots of places, it is part of scorching the sky, it is what the bad side tells people, becuase if people know, the bad side loses all power. It is why in the movie 'Adjustment Bureo movie they said people were not suppose to see it. That is in many doctrines, the idea that there is suppose to be some 'secret' and that is becuase some bought into existence being despair, like 'fate doctrine' part of that movie, is a despair delusion. Side note, haven't seen the movie, the idea of knowing you have free will is a good theme in the advertisements of that movie however.

Because when they do see it, people can not use it against them in secret anymore.

3. The only reason I would not go after 'Bush group'
Edited on Fri Jun-24-11 01:23 AM by RandomThoughts
Would be if most of TV is actually CGI, if the interviews of Bush 43 speaking were actual things he said, and not edited, then he does not have my respect.

And I know one of the 'things that was in Bush 43' it tried to attack, and I had it for a few seconds years ago. It came across from an attempt at a curse but was pretty weak, took less then a few seconds to knock it down.

Although I understand he fell to delusions, as did his father, and have some sympathy for his father more then him.

Either way, their family needs to be finished from private and public sector, by the track record, and by there being consolidations. They have got almost everything wrong, from what is shown on news. Support of wallmart, and various medals, becuase they say one thing, while the people do something else.

My guess is most of what you heard about those with medals given to them, was for 'public consumption' not for people knowing what is going on, or the idea of keeping people dumb, based on the various delusions they are in.

The people that actually have the actions, of what I think they are about, do not have my support, respect or sympathy, so by function not data, if what is said about them is correct, they are dust, if not then whoever it is about is.

4. The individual in custody is the man who exposed their torture program.
He will have a hard time having a peaceful life.

5. That does not make it correct.

And I hope the guy that released those pictures does have comfort.

It is hard to explain, but unless the tv is all cgi, and it is coming from those editors, the Bush family was under delusions.

Maybe they will get free, maybe they have already, and last time I saw the older Bush 41 looked like he had gotten out, although that was for a moment.

But anyways, there are far more people to be concerned about then them, although care for the least is important, they are messed up.

You could make the argument nobody told them, but then you have to ask why the censors, and they may support that, or did within whatever delusion had them.

I am not judging them, but I do not agree with what they have done, but know it was by a failing to a delusion. So there are many ways to see it, and Jeb is more stable, but still don't need more of that disaster to occur with him in office.

Again if the news is at all correct, they were going to sell the ports, ran based on smear, and many other things, the list is really long. Maybe they are right and that is how people are suppose to be, but that is not what I believe, I do not believe in monarchy, and know it is a gateway to a delusion of superiority failure.

Although his wife Laura Bush is kinda hot :)

8. No he isn't. Didn't you even READ the article? Good grief.
He worked for public affairs (the people who put out the base newspaper and issue base press releases), and he took pictures around the prison of stuff like prisoners getting medical exams, eating bananas, and doing laundry. They were "intimate" portraits of daily life, not torture pics.

If his photos were so damning, I rather doubt the PAO office would be "showcasing" them. Sheesh!

Thursday, the detention center’s website was still showcasing his work in the military’s photographers archive.

His images included one of a captive in shackles being given an X-Ray by a fellow Navy petty officer; two detainees hanging laundry in a recreation yard of a prison camp where an Afghan captive would later commit suicide and another captive being treated in a dental chair. He also took pictures of the sergeant major of the Army touring the maximum-security prison building and the Miami Dolphins cheerleaders signing autographs at Guantánamo on Super Bowl Sunday.

6. Kind of a BS headline. He was released on bail, he's not in any lock-up right now.
The question is one of citizenship, and what he knew, and when he knew it:

Dawkins, allegedly believing he was a U.S. citizen, obtained a retroactive Florida Birth Certificate on March 30, 2006 declaring he was born on Oct. 21, 1984 in Miami-Dade County. In 2003, he started the process of applying for a U.S. passport but let it lapse after realizing he had insufficient documentation. He applied again, in April 2006, and got a passport but put a check mark in a box marked “no” in response to a question on whether he had earlier applied for a passport — the crux of his alleged felony.

Jessica Hammond, an official at the Florida Department of Health, was checking out how Dawkins obtained the U.S. birth certificate at age 21 if immigration officials had indeed ordered his deportation at age 8 as a Bahamian.

Moreover, his court record shows that federal prosecutors indicted him in March, in Miami, while he was still serving in a Navy uniform about 400 miles away in southeast Cuba.

9. I'd like to know if his recruiter took a few shortcuts, myself.
It happens.

The fact that they released him on bail suggests that, worst case scenario, he'll end up back in the land of his birth, the Bahamas, with his nursing credentials and the ability to earn a decent wage in a competitive job market. Best case scenario, they'll find a way to forgive him his trespasses and get him a green card/citizenship track.

The former is probably more likely than the latter, but you never know. I can't see a sentient judge ordering him to do time.
