7. Daughter recently stopped and moved one from roadway,
and we KEPT one in her room, 10+ years ago. FUN, and neat animals.

9. not so much fun is cleaning poo from the aquarium,as i found when turtlesitting for several months.

10. I watched one dig a hole in our yard for her eggs and cover it up.
My mom lives in Bayside which is, surprisingly logically, by a bay.

19. I stopped one time to help a turtle.
Turned out to be a large snapping turtle. Whoa!! I did not want to be caught by that sucker by any means. They are mean to say the least. Their eyes and open mouth are enough to scare anybody.

I got a very large box and put it in the trunk. I then used a snow shovel I had to put said turtle in the box. Found a nearby place to turn over box and watch him mosey further into the woods. I know they can be handled without all this hooha, but I wasn't in the mood to be turtle food.


I could have found somebody who would use him for soup. It is tasty, but I was not running a turtle black market.

That was a lifetime mitzvah!
