Bachmann raised money for heavy metal minister who wants to execute gays
Talk about CRAZY...I HAD TO DOUBLE CHECK THIS STORY.

Bachmann raised money for heavy metal minister who wants to execute gays
"This ministry, 'You Can Run But You Cannot Hide,' they are not sidetracked, they're on course," Bachmann intones. "They're way on course. Because they get it. They get what this is all about."

GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann has raised money for a right-wing extremist who believes gays are responsible for the Holocaust and endorses Muslim law calling for the execution of homosexuals.

Bradlee Dean is a radio host, drummer for a heavy-metal Christian band and head of an anti-gay ministry called You Can Run But You Can’t Hide, which is located in Bachmann’s congressional district. His controversial statements include an allegation that the average gay man molests 117 people “before they’re found out.”

Dean, who hasn’t cut his hair in a decade and is heavily tattooed with biblical imagery, has also made outrageous statements about President Barack Obama and subscribes to a number of far-fetched conspiracy theories popular on the fringes of the political right.

Bachmann and Bradlee appeared together in Kansas City last September at the Freedom Jamboree, a five-day festival billed as “the first national nominating convention” for the Tea Party.

1. It cracks me up that that 15-year-old photo of Dean is the one that keeps getting trotted out.

Here he is earlier this year, giving the opening prayer at the Legislature:

Hee, here's another one:

This guy's show is bizarre. Listening to it is like listening to Radio Uganda or something -- it sounds very reasonable and interesting, and then all of a sudden, you're like, holy shit, this is the most bizarre, coded propaganda I've ever heard!

5. Christian Heavy Metal = oxymoron

I'd like to put this guy in a room with Gaahl and lock the door.

For non metalheads, Gaahl is gay. Here's a nice Christian performance from Gaahl and the boys from Gorgoroth.

7. "Christian Heavy Metal" doesn't exist...
I've had friends try to introduce me to Christian Metal bands in the past, and after hearing them I would chuckle. Because there's nothing "metal" about them. Years ago a friend had me listen to this band Petra- supposedly "Christian Rock", and I kid you not- it was folk music played on an acoustic guitar. I guess to them that's "Rock" and "Metal".

8. Has any enterprising soul come out with v2.0 of "Know Your Rightwing Nutjob" trading cards yet?
I don't know that I'd format them as playing cards this year -- even considering a full deck of 52 plus FOUR Jokers, they're coming out of the woodwork faster'n maggots.

Yes, I'm aware of the dissonance caused by placing the terms "Rightwing Nutjob" and "full deck" in the same post...
