Checker players will kibbitz a chess game and scoff at the missed opportunties to jump the queen with a knight and never see the mate coming.

Checkers is not a stupid man's game however, and a seasoned player can clear the board of an opponent's pieces everytime with moves that seem to materialize from nowhere. The trick is to never get suckered into a game of checkers with someone who's good at it.

Force an opponent into a game on your board and make the first move before they have a chance to read the rules.
