It's tragic that the little girl died, but what about all the other children in the U.S. who also die from murder or from lack of health care? Why was this child's case singled out and not all the others?

What a major distraction (by design, in my opinion, if only because of newscaster decision) for the citizens of this country.

Why can't the American public feel a little passion for children by the numbers who may be suffering? Or must there always be a face associated with him or her before we care?

I know it's not a similar story or related news, but I remember having similar feelings and questions in the nineties when it was all Elian Gonzalez coverage, all the time!
