Wisconsin: Fond du Lac protests at Walker / Hopper fundraiser (pics)
Edited on Wed Jul-20-11 06:04 PM by Scuba
Hot, hot, hot, but approximately 200 people turned out in Fond du Lac today to protest at a fundraiser for Scott Walker and Randy Hopper. Based on my unscientific analysis, drivers going through "the gauntlet" were evenly divided between pro- and anti-Walker forces.

Chants of "Randy Hopper's going down. Fond du Lac's a Union Town" competed with "Hey, hey, ho, ho, Walker Hopper's gotta go" and "Show me what democracy looks like. This is what democracy looks like".

The Governor may have shownup, but he didn't come through the main entrance before I had to leave at 5:15 (he was scheduled to arrive at 4:15). Other Walker and Hopper supporters were greeted with shouts of "shame, shame".

Thanks to those who were there. These Wisconsin protesters of course showed up with great signs, as always...

1. It truly makes no sense to lay off school teachers...
They are the infrastructure that help create our communities.... They deserve better...

5. I love it.
As I've been pointing out since the whole shebang started last February, the prostests have been happening all over the state, not just Mad City.

Here are some pics from the protests on Lake Wissota, where the Gubnur held his fishing season opener (normally an uneventful annual event in support of state tourism).
