I don't get it: Dems (real ones) in the states are SURGING
A presumably vulnerable Wisconsin Democrat CRUSHED his Thug opponent 2-1 in his RECALL election. Voters in NJ give Fats Christie his lowest approval ratings ever. Same in Ohio with K-Suck.

Real Democrats are SURGING around the country. Is the White House in such a bubble that it is totally IGNORING all of this while it bargains away Social Security and Medicare like so many poker chips? WTF?

4. Or perhaps, they live in the real world, rather than reading the crazy bullshit on DU.
Seriously, this place is again setting new record highs for being completely inside it's own little universe, to believe the shit that's going around about how Obama is out to destroy Social Security and Medicare. It's unbelievably stupid, and yet many people here seem to believe it.

6. Dems (real ones) in the states support the President.
Last I checked he has 80%+ support among Democrats.

7. Hansen stopped being "presumably vulnerable" when the GOP picked a horrible opponent
I'm glad Hansen won and that he won big. But he won in 2008 with around 60 percent of the vote, so I wouldn't overstate his victory.

12. I'm hoping that they're going into this knowing
that the Republicans won't agree to ANYTHING. So when their backs are to the wall, Obama will look good at thumbing his nose at the obstructionists and push his real agenda.

14. Nothing yet, since there's no deal.
But SS and MC have been on the table from the outset, according to the President Himself. YOu can pretend nothing's going to happen to them. After the Obama Tax Cuts and the (No) Public Option, I'm not optimistic.

15. Except that that's false. He's repeatedly said Social Security and Medicare are protected.
But some people like to ignore that part.

21. neoliberalism is an ideology not pragmatism.
The modern democratic party is a business, and it cares more about raking in wallstreet cash and jobs for big wig dems than winning.
