The tide may not have completely turned in WI yet, but it has certainly turned to a large extent just since last Nov. Last night must be seen as an ADVANCE even if not a complete "victory" given that they just missed flipping back the state senate. They booted two RePukes who won comfortably in November. They went on offense against very tough odds in red districts where state level RePukes won in 08 even though Obama won there nationally. The outside corporate RePukes saturated these districts with money, outspending the Dems at least 2-1. And still they won two and nearly won two more. BIG change since just last November. Just wish some more Dems had voted, and then it WOULD have happened. Even 50 or 60 percent turnout doesn't cut it. EVERYONE needs to vote. No excuses. So close. But Dems should still feel pretty good about this. Keep the big picture in mind. Kloppenburg came out of nowhere to almost beat an entrenched incumbent. That night D's did much better than R's winning key local government seats previously held by R's. Sen. Hansen won big a few weeks ago. Now there is another race on the 16th. Bear up and win those too. Keep an eye on the big picture. Also, a state house Dem flipped a red seat in a special election in NH last night. We also just got the signatures needed to force a repeal referendum on a RePuke anti-voting law in Maine. Did it in RECORD time. We have a good chance of sending a nice message to our Maine RePukes that their crap isn't going to stand here in Maine. Hochul won the special US House election in NY in a red district. Janice Hahn won the special US House seat in CA.

So chin up and keep fighting. Lots of good news lately. We are competing well all around the nation.

1. Yes
The Democrats picked up 2 seats, how is this not a Democratic victory? The Republicans narrowly held onto their majority, but they lost ground.

2. I'm surprised at you
I don't see any mention of this from New Hampshire:

Bob Perry's victory tonight is a complete and total rejection of Republican House Speaker Bill O'Brien's reckless job-killing agenda,” said New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Raymond Buckley. “In a historically Republican district, New Hampshire voters turned out in the middle of summer to send a loud and clear message to the out-of-control Republican majority. Its relentless attempts to make cigarettes cheaper but college more expensive, slash women's health care, and kill jobs by taxing hospitals must stop immediately.

And you're from Maine.

3. It was huge, IMO. The Democrats are now very organized
in WI, and I bet Walker is nervous. he should be.

4. This was another battle on the road toward taking down Walker next year.
The massive demonstrations in Madison were the start. Then collecting the signatures need to recall the 6 Republican senators. Fighting through the fake primaries and then finally defeating 2 of the 6 Republican incumbents.

Now we continue on down the battle road, preparing and organizing for the collection of signatures to recall Walker. A big, big help in all of that would be for us to get a well-known and respected state figure to announce that they would run against Walker.
