Trump: ‘I’d be willing’ to pay more taxes
Source: Raw Story

Real estate mogul Donald Trump said Monday that he would be willing to pay a higher tax rate but most oil companies would not because they are not patriotic.

“Warren Buffet made another splash with his op-ed in The New York Times, saying it’s just not right that he, a billionaire, pays 17 percent in taxes when his secretary and receptionist pay more,” ABC’s George Stephanopoulos told Trump. “Isn’t he right about that?”

“There’s many different views on that,” Trump replied. “And I can also tell you that a lot of people will go elsewhere to do business if you start taxing them.”

“But 17 percent isn’t much for a billionaire,” Stephanopolous noted.

3. It's easy to offer to pay more taxes if you take every available loophole

offered and hide your money. If you're paying zero dollars, does it matter whether your level is 25, 35, or 45 percent?

Trump is not going to let another "mogul" seem more patriotic than him.

6. Ther Internationalization of Capital ...
Where socialism was never internationalized. Capital can move freely but labor cannot. That's why there's such a disparity between the haves and have-nots.

8.  'If you tax them, they will leave' ----> Not necessarily true! 3 studies:
1)
'High Taxes Don’t Drive Out the Rich, Study Says'
blogs.wsj.com — Some rich people leave their state of residence because of taxes.
But there is no real proof that large flights of wealthy people are due to taxes...'

And that's from Murdoch's rag!
Can't link because I have this 'Murdoch Block' thing that gets froggy on me.

2)
'Study finds taxes do not make New Jersey's millionaires flee the state'

3)
'New Study: Employment, Not Taxes, Drives Families' Decisions to Move '

Sorta, off the top of my head.
But hey, if Trillionaires really want to live in China or Mexico or wherever...and risk getting kidnapped and shot and etc etc etc. let them go. They will not be missed by me. Traitors. We'll survive without them.

9. oil companies? you mean the ones who earn huge profits overseas and don't repatriate it?
a lot of these mega-global companies are international regardless. it's almost a matter of trivia where the headquarters are.
they don't repatriate their foreign profits because they're waiting for a tax holiday. in other words, they earn money overseas, they keep money oversea, they don't pay u.s. taxes.

the only thing that makes them "american" companies is the official registration, mostly it seems, for the purpose of being able to legally bribe american officials in order to rent the military to advance their business interests. now that foreign corporations can bribe american officials, they may leave anyway.

i think they remain nominally "american" mostly for image reasons.

the real question is if they aren't loyal to america, why is america loyal to them?
