Crowing about victory in Libya is premature- aside from being slightly icky
It all depends on what comes of it. And that's an unknown and unknowable. Could it be worse than Qaddafi? Sure. It can almost always be worse. Or it could be better. And when I speak of better or worse I'm referring to the welfare of the people of Libya as well as the stability of that country.

It may turn out well. It may not.

1. It would have to be pretty bad to be worse than the four-plus decades of brutal repression they've
endured.

It ain't quite over yet, though. They've got Saif and Muhammad, but they don't yet have Moo-ha-mar, the murdering fuck.

2. Oh, good grief.
Do we still believe in the Easter bunny?

Once Qadafi croaked, there was going to be a bloody civil war, among his sons if no one else and there were plenty of elses waiting their chance. As with Saddam Hussein, the process was stepped up a bit.

There are a whole lot of fingers hoping for pie. Quite a few will be lopped off before they even get a taste.

3. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss
That's what it seems to devolve into in the Islamic world, eventually.

6. That's like refusing to celebrate at a wedding until you see if
the couple stays together for 10 years first.

Baloney. Ambivalence is not the appropriate reaction to the overthrow of a madman.
