Mayors, NFL speak out after post 49ers-Raiders game double shooting

(CBS/AP) SAN FRANCISCO - The mayors of San Francisco and Oakland, along with the National Football League, have called for an end to the recent acts of violence at sporting events. This comes after two men were shot and wounded following a San Francisco 49ers-Oakland Raiders NFL preseason game over the weekend.

During Saturday's attacks, a 24-year-old man, who reportedly was wearing a "F-the Niners" T-shirt, was shot several times in the stomach in the parking lot at Candlestick Park after the game and remained hospitalized in serious condition Sunday.

The second victim, a 20-year-old man, was treated for less serious wounds in a separate shooting, also after the game.

Although no arrests have been made, Sgt. Mike Andraychak said police are looking for "a person of interest" connected to at least one of the shootings. He would not specify which shooting. Sgt. Frank Harrell added that the two Saturday shootings were being treated separately "but we believe they are related."

Apart from the shootings, a third victim, a 26-year-old man, was also hospitalized in serious condition Sunday after he was knocked unconscious in a stadium bathroom during the game.

1. I stopped going to professional sporting events a long time ago.
It just stopped being fun. It seemed like there was always someone nearby looking for a fight. I watch them on TV now.

2. There usually is some goot back and forth when Raiders play Seahawks
But this stuff is getting out of hand. Why would anyone fight over a stupid friggin game?
We have eason tickets (To Seahawks?) and really enjoy the atmosphere but it took almost 5 years to clean up our section of rowdy idiotic drunks who loved to start fights with visiting fans.

For two straight years security was posted in our section because of the idiots who liked starting fights. They did this after one loser kicked a Seattle police officer in the face when he tried to break up a large fight.

Idiots ruin what can be great experiences. My son took his boy to his first Seahawk game last fall and we loved it, so did the people in our group!

I took my elderly father to his first pro football game with my son and it was memorable. I wore him out like he did me when I was a child! Drove him home and he fell asleep on the way, just like a little kid.

FAntastic memories and thenyou have fucking retarded idiots who seriusly injure others for the sport. Losere.

3. Do they still serve beer at these events?
My DH and I used to go to Dodger baseball games. I noticed that the trouble makers were usually drunk. I mean we drank a beer there to go with our hot dog, too, but some people don't know how to behave under the influence because it lowers their inhibitions. I could go to a game and enjoy it just as well without the alcohol.
