Perry wants to change the consitution...
Rick Perry has many ideas about how to change the American government's founding document. From ending lifetime tenure for federal judges to completely scrapping two whole amendments, the Constitution would see a major overhaul if the Texas governor and Republican presidential candidate had his druthers.

Perry laid out these proposed innovations to the founding document in his book, Fed Up! Our Fight to Save America from Washington. He has occasionally mentioned them on the campaign trail. Several of his ideas fall within the realm of mainstream conservative thinking today, but, as you will see, there are also a few surprises

I kind of like his idea of limiting judges rein on the supreme court..Not a bad idea but his other desires... :(

2. he has tons of thoughts, most are scary. and for him to talk about treason of a top govt official
just seals the deal that he's a morAn, with a capital A. This jerk talked about seceding from the United States of America just earlier in Obama's term - that is all I'm going to talk about if he's their nominee - no man or woman who talked about that deserves to step foot in the Oval Office!

3. Conservatives want to change the Document that "protects" its citizens. This fact
alone should be used in campaigning.

4. I think Perry is going to end up being the VP nominee for some northern candidate.
VPs are allowed to be dumb as shit---as long as they can sway a few states. Big question will be whether Obama's Black support in the south will make the purplish southern states swing blue. If so, the GOP might use Perry to appeal to the Confederate Flag crowd---the folks who will be less than thrilled at voting for a Mormon.

7. that is possible. I also could see them plucking sweet as sugar sounding Marco Rubio as their VP
nominee. If they surprise the Dems with a surprise pick at VP to sway votes in the south, like Perry or Rubio. Pres. Obama needs to shore up his base and be strong about the issues that we voted him in for, and then go after the Independents in the general. The funny thing is, the GOP electorate may pick such a right wing nut that we won't have to worry too much, the more extreme they choose, the more likely nearly all Dems who voted in 2008 will be back in 2012, along with most Independents!

6. changing the Constitution is not in itself a bad idea...
It's just that conservatives always want to change it to make it worse.

I used to think limiting the Supreme Court in some way was a good idea, but now that Perry is for it, I am against it.

11. Dont negate a good idea
because a idiot happens to have the same idea. Limiting terms and/or 2-4 years terms for supreme court judges is a excellent way to add some type of accountability for their actions... This is the only idea/policy I agree with Perry on..

8. Gotta keep Obama in the White House, NOT Perry, or else the makeover below could become a reality!

9. "Constitution" - the only four syllable word most Republicants can pronounce correctly.
Edited on Mon Aug-22-11 11:27 PM by DCKit
Just don't ask 'em to spell it.

It's a sacred document, but they want to change it. To some (R)s, it's just a piece of paper, to others, it's toilet paper.

It's Jonestown, on a national scale. Personally, I don't want to go down that road.
