What is the endgame for the 1%?
I mean, they have all the money, they have all the governmental power, they have our judicial system; what more could they want? Global power? Some of them already have that. Do they put us on an island and have us fight for food for their entertainment? I just can't see their end goal other than amassing more money and power.

The elite did just that with children as the players. Only one can win the food.

Controlling who lives and dies... what a high. When you have everything else, why not play god. :sarcasm:

7. That is the question. How much is enough?
John Sidney McCain III had his nine houses (with his wife)-- was that enough?

The Kochs have billions and yet they want more.

14. There is no end game.
Seriously, you think there is some kind of 'rich person' club that meets in secret to plan the future?

The rich are people, too. Some of them enjoy flaunting it and gaining more power because of their money. That doesn't mean they are all acting in concert toward some kind of 'end game'.

To solve a problem, you first have to identify it more precisely. Thinking of all rich people as being against the rest of us is not looking at the problem with your eyes fully open.

15. They want a planet with...
500 million to a billion humans on it.
They know damn well that there are too many people for our current systems to support, and that that is what is killing the environment.
Everything that is happening policy-wise is designed to help speed this up.
Soon, they will just come right out and do it.
This is the essence of Dominionism, and it will be corporate dominionism that wins in the end, if we allow it to...

More debauchery, this time with medical technology assistance!

More pitting different people/groups against each other in 'contests' (Like the poster above suggested with 'The Hunger Games'

Making the contrast even greater between the haves and have nots

modern legalized slavery

And ever increasing isolation between the 1% and the rest of us, with ecological destruction of our environment so that their lives can be made even easier.

18. As long as there is a sentient being whose will and nature is not violated, it's not endgame yet
It's not just greed, a fair number of them are rather metaphysical in their goals. They don't want STUFF, they want SOCIETY to be organized a certain way. Owning all the stuff is just a shortcut to the power necessary to rearrange society.

22. They do have global power. Don't forget, they left national borders behind
some years ago and now have their tentacles everywhere.

That's why the Occupation movement is now a global one with occupations even in the Middle East, Africa and China!

However, the end game for them will be the collapse of the derivatives trading system, that system of gambling with phony money to make more phony money. When that goes, most of them will go since they've abandoned traditional investing as a way to grow wealth rapidly.

24. My opinion is that the war on the people is run by a few
extremely idiological wing nuts like the Kochs, Dick Army and Karl Rove. Together they maybe represent the top .001% but they have influence and friends among the top few percent. Then it is out of their hands and into ALEC's and Madison Ave. slime machine to just spend the $100s of millions of dollars that get chipped in by a few people like the Koch's with basically infinite money. This is what happens when we cut the top tax rates to such and extent that their private riches begin to pile up--basically exponentially.

What do you think?

37. Ever read Henry Kissinger's statement that the world's
Population had to be reduced down to the 600,000 to 600 million numbers?

And don't ever forget it - Kissinger approved of Obama winning the Presidency and he was immediately put into place as an adviser to the President.

FEMA is using the DHS monies to build huge centers, one inside each region in the nation, that are basically acres upon acres of empty land, and serious looking buildings holding huge numbers of prison cells.

Why?

40. The question is what is the end game of capitalism
It doesn't matter who, precisely, is in the 1%.

The reality of capitalism is that it always moves in this direction - of more concentrated wealth and political influence. Efforts of regulation are temporary and tenuous at best. Capitalism will *always* move in this direction. The theory of capitalism doesn't add up any other way, and history shows this to be the truth.

I know they have absolutely no qualms about using it. And yes, it will be extreme, if it has to be. But first they will let us sort out the weak among us, ourselves, for their entertainment. The Running Man - I see a future very much like that.

Unbelievable. Stephen King, of all people, nailed it.

will not be much opportunity for upward mobility as the vast majority of the world will have been fully exploited. So this uber rich class will be almost permanent (along with their uber corporations). It is now or never for them.
