Herman Cain Claimed That A ‘Liberal Court’ Killed Jesus
Crazier and crazier...

http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2011/10/17/345531/herman-cain-liberal-court-killed-jesus/

The liberal court found Him guilty of false offences and sentenced Him to death, all because He changed the hearts and minds of men with an army of 12. His death reset the clock of time. Never before and not since has there ever been such a perfect conservative.

Cain does not explain why he finds the Roman court that sentenced and executed Jesus to be “liberal.”

13. And to them, when people call Jesus a "perfect liberal," it is also blasphemy.
There is enough contradictory stuff in the bible that just about anybody can claim Jesus as one of theirs.

39. Maybe you didn't get my meaning, then.
"But none of them care because none of them really believe anyway"

I didn't mean all believers -- although you could certainly read it that way.

I meant all these fools who use religion (in America's case, Christianity) to control people and take away their money and freedom.

This applies to TV and megachurch preachers as well as politicians who keep waving their crosses.

You probably saw -- a year or two ago -- much discussion of the right wing saying they were going to edit the liberal parts out of the Bible.

Now, if you believe...

1) That there is a God who's in charge of everything

2) That the Bible is his word

3) That in that Bible we have the record of God actually coming to earth to rectify things, and

4) That those who still won't listen are to be tortured forever.

If you believe that, then there's no amount of money, power, or prestige that would make it worthwhile to lie about any part of it.

And yet they do. (They, again, meaning the charlatans, politicians, etc.)

Conclusion: "They" don't really believe it.

(Of course the world is full of people who actually do believe those things although I sure can't figure out why they believe it)

That's why, in politics and in life, lying is so effective.

Remember in 2004, how Rove and the Swift Boat Liars made John Kerry into a coward? Their "message" was broadcast 24//7 on ABCNNBCBSFixedNutsNoiseworks. And people still believe that crap.

Wasn’t Jesus A Liberal?
by Gary Vance

http://www.commondreams.org/views04/1019-24.htm

...Jesus was the ultimate liberal progressive revolutionary of all history. The conservative religious and social structure that He defied hated and crucified Him. They examined His life and did not like what they saw. He aligned Himself with the poor and the oppressed. He challenged the religious orthodoxy of His day. He advocated pacifism and loving our enemies. He liberated women and minorities from oppression. He healed on the Sabbath and forgave adulterers and prostitutes. He associated with drunks and other social outcasts. He rebuked the religious right of His day because they embraced the letter of the law instead of the Spirit. He loved sinners and called them to Himself. Jesus was the original Liberal. He was a progressive, and He was judged and hated for it. It was the self-righteous religionists that He rebuked and He called them hypocrites.

The primary issues of Christian Liberalism were birthed when Jesus spoke the profoundly prophetic words found in Matthew 25: 31-46. (40 And He shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, In as much as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.") These scriptures reveal God's heart for the poor, the sick and other neglected people through out history. Christians should read this text and judge for themselves which of the two groups mentioned there more accurately reflect the political parties of today. His Liberalism lives on today and the issues have not changed much....

It is time for Christians of conscience to stand up to religious and political hypocrisy. Christians should proudly proclaim progressive values today and should advocate for the Christian Liberalism that is our heritage and our legacy.

Gary Vance

Mr. Cain is delusional -

The fact that these idiots have a place on the national stage means that the US isn't fit to exist.

Look at your friends, neighbors, coworkers... They're the ones who made this possible.

28. it was pontius pilot who killed jesus, it was rome
and rome was not liberal. when rome embraced christianity as an official religion, a lot of rewriting was in the works. Does anyone actually think that pontius washed his hands after crucifying many with no conscience at all? You can't have the empire embracing the religion who's leader you've crucified. Jesus was a jew and it makes a better story that his own people killed him.

Just like when maher interviewed that minister and maher spoke about the words of jesus "turn the other cheek" "embrace your enemies." The minister quoted from romans. Well romans is from saul of tarsus or paul. paul who murdered jews, paul who was a roman all of a sudden sees the light. paul who romanises the christian movement so it can be used to control and conquer. Cain is a nut if he thinks that the bloody roman empire was in any way liberal.
