2. He does financial information.
The guy is incredibly smart, puts up financial news and tells you what the implications of it are.
He is also non-political, but is of a libertarian bent.
I ignore his personal beliefs and focus in on his economic reports.
Thanks to him, I pulled all my retirement funds out just before the crash in 2008.

3. +1
He can be a bit of a blowhard, but he is one of the few who really "gets it" (what happened to our economic system) and tirelessly explains it to the rest of us.

I've been following him since '08, too.

I don't always agree with his personal stance on some issues, but I haven't found a better place to stay on top of what's going on in the economic and financial worlds.

5. Hey, I commend his support of OWS, but he still steadfastly supports the Citizens United ruling.
Either he's a Moran or an opportunist. I've always found him to be beligerant, emotional, and naive. Never found him to be particularly "smart", but that's just my view.

Citizens United cannot be anymore cut and dry in terms of its damage to the American People and democracy. It runs completely counter to the purpose of OWS. Karl still does not understand that. I suppose he might just need a little more time to figure out the contradiction.

That being said, however harsh, this coming together on OWS is very much welcomed, as long as he and his followers aren't trying to muddy the waters.

If his intentions are good, WTG!

6. Just clicked his link. He seriously believes in Issa's Fast & Furious "controversy"?

Okay, I realize that I am now openly mocking, but come on. Geez. I remember when his sidekick (Steph something-or-other) believed that there really was a War-on-Christmas, because she'd "seen it with her own eyes", presumably on Fox News.

Again, that being said, I enthusiastically welcome the disillusioned followers of RW talking points and faux controversies, as we need the all sides to come together, however naive they may be.

My apologies in advance for the , though. I just can't help myself.

7. I have 3 inviolate rules in my life:
Do NOT fuck with my kids
my car
or my money.

Denninger can believe in the man in the moon for all I care.
He can pompously windbag any political crap he wants to ( and he sure does)
but
he makes sense on money and how crooked the system is and how exponential functions rule debt
and now he "gets" the message of OWS and the Constitutional right to protest.
And he has, for years now, been chiding and writing TPTB in Congress about the inevitable problems with increasing the debt, with The Fed, Bernanke, Geithner, etc.

Between him and Max Keiser ( who is a hoot in his own right) my retirement funds were saved in the meltdown. Good enough for me.

8. Hey, if he helped save your retirement fund, then kudos to him and you! But,
Edited on Wed Nov-02-11 03:58 PM by MrsCorleone
just for the sake of accuracy, he was about one in a thousand plus bloggers "predicting" the meltdown. He certainly was not unique. In fact he was very late to the party. The smart money, regarding real estate, pulled out many years before, and the writing on the wall regarding the obvious fall-out was very clear to those paying attention in the general public by mid '05. In terms of political-economic realities, I find him woefully naive. Lots of moving parts that he does not seem to grasp. His thinking is too black and white and simplistic.

But, I guess my real beef with him is that he continues to confuse his readers with corporate Think Tank nonsense, nonsense that benefit what you refer to as "TPTB", those entities outside of Congress that really run the show. Of course, this is at the expense of the American people, including his loyal followers. I'd like to see Karl talk openly about those monied entities. But, then, I suspect he's really not "allowed" to do that. Hope I'm wrong about that. Time will tell, I suppose.

Again, if Karl's intentions are good for the American people with regards to the purpose of OWS, then I give him an enthusiastic thumbs up for his support. I know that I've been harsh, but not, I believe, unfairly so, given his openly stated positions. So I criticize. Why? I'm no different than you in that I don't like when those things that I hold near and dear are fucked with, and that would include democracy.
