List of Public office holders that have gone public supporting OWS?

Hey guys,

does anybody have a list of public officials that have gone public yet supporting OWS?

I think we should build some sort of sticky list (for historical and supporting reasons) of these individuals so that we can support them in any way possible even if it is only with words.

Thoughts?

1. On a National level? There are some local public officials who support
The Albany DA and Sheriff will not mess with the protestors.. Not sure that's an endorsement type i mean?

There are also local NY council members who support OWS... got them toilets finally I believe.

I think Dennis Kucinich voiced support. Bernie Sander's stands with them.

Think of it as a Democratic support list we can use at election times :)

Support the supporters of OWS

2. Not sure what you mean by 'supporting'. Thus far, I know for

sure that Reps Barbara Lee and Dennis Kucinich have spoken out against the police riots in Oakland. I'm not sure I'd count Obama's mealy-mouthed platitudes about the American people's 'frustration' and his false equivalences between the Tea Party and OWS as 'support.'

11. Yeah, it's pretty pathetic. I'm still waiting to hear from my
Rep (Karen Bass in CA's 33rd) on OWS, Scott Olsen and this newest victim Kayvan Sabehgi. She's running the risk of losing my vote in November 2012 if she doesn't speak up soon and loudly. I am seriously pissed and getting more so by the day.

7. Alan Grayson has strongly supported it.
Buddy Roehmer, once a Dem, now a Repub, has also strongly supported it from the beginning. He is a CEO of a small community bank and said they never foreclosed on anyone, they helped people renegotiate when necessary and kept everyone in their homes.

Don't know why he switched parties, but he sounds like a decent guy to me.

NY Rep. Charlie Rangel supports them.

NY Gov. Patterson supports them.

Can't think of anyone else, although I know there are others.

was. I was too busy raising a family.

12. Well, for what it's worth...
Our very republican chief of police has gone out of his way to help get the camp set up, making sure that Occupy had all the necessary permits, etc. The sheriff, who is best buds with erstwhile senate candidate and present DA Ken Buck, is also supportive; sheriff deputies have shown up with thermoses of hot coffee for our Occupiers. The city is allowing access to electricity (although the team is looking for plans for the stationary bikes to generate power; cold as it is, the exercise would be a good thing). This is more than a little surprising, given that this city and county are run by republicans. Even the newspaper, not even close to being the 'liberal rag' it's accused of being, did a very favorable editorial about the Occupy group, and have run pictures with small, complimentary stories attached. It's all quite gratifying, but Denver is only an hour away and their experience bears paying attention.
