Occupiers for Peace (page for Facebook users to show support)
My apologies to those who don't use FB and/or hate it. It's the largest neutral site (not overtly political) I know of to show how many people support something (other than a petition, of course).

I'm pleasantly surprised by how many people who "don't talk politics" privately message me or agree something I post there. As we often observe, more people embrace progressive ideals than the media and politicians would have us believe.

This page is a small way to show support and focus on OWS's message of peace, going against what the latest MSM meme, saying OWS supporters are okay with violence and vandalism.

Below is the description of Occupiers for Peace. If you agree, and if you're on FB, please *like* the page and share with others (people are liking my personal post and the image but not the page itself...oy...lol). Please share with your local Occupy group as well in case they're on FB (most of the Occupy networks have a presence on FB).

OCCUPIERS FOR PEACE

Page dedicated to supporters of the Occupy Movement who condemn violence and support PEACEFUL demonstrations!!!

In light of the mainstream media reports of violence at Occupy (Occupy Wall Street) protests, let's gather to show our support FOR peaceful demonstrations. We condemn ALL violence and vandalism, both on the part of the police in some cities, as well as any alleged Occupy supporters who have acted shamefully.

We realize there are agent provocateurs at many locations as one source of violence and vandalism. However, with a movement this size there are inevitably a small number of those who seek to create chaos through violence though also they are supporting the movement. They are not.

The VAST majority of Occupy Supporters and Activists realize the importance of this remaining a peaceful revolution!!!

Let's show the naysayers, especially the mainstream media outlets (owned by the same monied interests OWS is protesting), how many of us stand with PEACEFUL, non-violent resistance against the current systems which benefit the few, as we work toward a more just, compassionate society.

2. Thanks. If it doesn't get an encouraging amount of *likes* over the weekend...
I'll probably delete so it doesn't give right-wingers and the media a way to say, "See, they don't really support peace."

:(

But thanks. :)

4. Good point. I wondered why they did Transfer on a weekend?
Most credit unions and community banks around here aren't even open on Saturdays.

Hopefully people will keep transferring all throughout next week.

6. Help!!! Please keep this kicked...
Not sure I can create another post about, and it didn't get much attention yesterday.

I'll have to delete the page if it doesn't get a good deal of likes, as I don't want to give right-wingers any grist for their OWS-hatin' mill.

I don't have tons of followers anywhere, so it's hard for me to get something "out there" in a big way without help.

Thanks in advance.
